Ao Nang hotels & places to stay

PananKrabi Resort was a lovely splurge for my trip to Thailand. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the hotel clean with lovely facilities, and the location ideal for exploring Ao Nang. Breakfast had a great range of Western and Thai choices. Hot water, outstanding views, comfy & stylish rooms - what more can you ask for. The nicer rooms with jacuzzi/pool where much more affordable than other area hotels. The beach, many great restaurants, and entertainment all within walking distance. Great choice in Ao Nang!

It was our honeymoon and they gave us free upgrade to private bungalow. It wasn't the best bungalow location, but it was appreciated. Great location in Ao Nang, too bad the massage on the beach were shut down (we miss Sassa). I've stayed at maybe 10 hotels in Ao Nang and this one had the best swimming pool for what I like (lots of sun from sunrise to sunset. It was too bad it's hours were only 09:00-18:00, because the wife and I love to swim in the evening. The food was very good and a fair price. We had nothing but good experiences with the staff. Everything they told us we later found to be true, good job! The wifi was mostly down is the only bad thing I can say. All in all we would definitely come back and we even tried to after our 9 night trip to Koh Lipe, but all the rooms we wanted were already booked.

We stayed 6 nights in that hotel. It is well located in Ao Nang mid range between the beach and the mosque. Rooms and bed are large. We changed our room (from 2410 to 4306) after first night because the road is very noisy. Any way the 2nd room in the rear building was just perfect. The breakfast is huge and tasty. They have a deterrent price for the laundry but you can go to the Ao Nang Village Resort (20m down to the beach). The hotel can book you a join van to the airport for 150THB/pax. The personnel is very friendly. If you book by Agoda they may want you to pay at the hotel even if it was not mentioned on either the voucher nor the site. Anyway I bet it's an issue with Agoda and Booking. To the manager: please upgrade your WIFI. The connection is awful. You are disconnected all the time and the bandwidth is damn slow (0.3Mbps vs 35 Mbps in 4G). Come on it's almost 2018 and all facilities around got better connectivity. If you do so you'd got a 5-star rate.

First impression - you cannot ask for a better combination of sea and mountain because this hotel was majestically situated right between the cliff and a fine, private beach. The environmentally friendly floating pontoon was fun to walk on. The staff was there to greet us with Thai smiles and hospitality. I have been to many hotels around Thailand and I must say that the standard of the services and manner of the staff here is exceptional. They are pleasantly polite and attentive. Our room was spacious, clean and modern and it had a great view of the ocean - a magnificent view at sunset. All in all a memorable, and very special first impression. Traveling to Ao Nang - the monkey trial was dangerously exciting. It takes 15 minutes to cross that small hill to Ao Nang. It is an adventure but really not for elderly people or those with knee problems. DO BRING A TORCH (and insect repellent) - u will need it even if there are lights along the way. Another option is to wait for the low tide and walk across across the beach to Ao Nang - this is an easier option, but again, a torch is a must. We were walking across a knee-level sea water at 7pm; it was very dark and we've never been scared before in our lives! but this adds to the fun tough. Perhaps for those who are less adventurous, you may want to take the hotel shuttle speedboat to Ao Nopparatana and take a 10-min taxi-ride to Ao Nang. On the way back, you can go back to Ao Nopparatana and get the hotel's shuttle speedboat back - do check the schedule of the boat and book in advance. Things to do - you should visit the 4 islands tour, you can buy it either from the hotel (which is understandably more expensive) or you can go to Ao Nang where there are lots of travel agents to choose (between 800-1500 baht). There are both private and group one-day trip you can buy and the price varies accordingly. The price also depends on the type of boats u want - a long tail boat is generally less expensive than a speedboat.

We stayed here for 3 days at the family deluxe room. When booking, our party had a lot of last minute changes regarding our rooms, but Ao Nang Phu Pi Maan was more than accommodating with all our changes. We had booked the early fare at half price, but even when we added an additional room past the time of booking, they still offered us that same price. Thanks Phu Pi Maan! The resort itself has its own free hourly shuttle to downtown, which is not really bad a walk considering you pass by all sorts of establishments and restaurants going down the main road. It goes as early as 7am and last trip is at 10pm. The driver Bill, even shows you around the place and points out what are the most famous places tourists tend to visit. Inside the resort is massive in itself, its uphill so there is an in-resort cart that brings you to the overlooking restaurant for breakfast and back. Uphill is the newer complex where the overlooking restaurant and pool is. Since the resort is on a hill, it offers the best views of Ao Nang with a beautiful mountain range as its highlight. The room comes with free breakfast buffet. Everyday it is a different spread, intercontinental and always delicious! We had a balcony in our rooms as well and a massive bathroom and gorgeous bath tub. Wifi was excellent and the best part is, everything in the mini fridge is free! The staff as well always on point and 5* thru and thru. We felt the hospitality very much and helped plan our itinerary for our stay. It's easy as well coming to and fro the resort since everyone knows where Phu Pi Maan is. Overall, the price we paid was just amazing! Only a fraction what we could've paid elsewhere. Krabi is a place where I'd like to return again and again. Thanks Phu Pi Maan for letting us experience a taste of Thai luxury!

i stayed in glow ao nang krabi for three days. The location of hotel is great, not far from ao nang beach and ao nang center point. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even give you one complimentary drink per customer. This hotel seems to be newly constructed with great interiors, great rooms, great lighting and awesome bathroom. The breakfast in morning(if you opted it during booking) is great and serves different varieties of food. pool area is great. If you are travelling with kids then this is the place to stay, there is a saperate dedicated area where you can chill with your kids. To sum up if you are visiting ao nang book this hotel without any hesitation. i am gonna book this hotel again when i visit krabi.

My wife and I spent the last 3 nights of our Thailand Honeymoon at the Ban Sainai Resort as we wanted to have a few days to do last minute souvenir shopping in Ao Nang after having spent 8 glorious days on West Railay Beach. After reviewing many Ao Nang Hotel customer comments the Ban Sainai Resort really stood out and justifiably so. The hotel is set in a beautiful and tranquil setting with great views of Limestone Cliffs from the equally impressive Hotel Pool. We loved the fact that the resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang but it is easily accessed with the free hotel shuttle service or as my wife and I did, walking from town back to the resort is an easy 15-20 minute stroll. The rooms at the Ban Sainai resort are very generous in size and comfort and there is a great veranda with a day bed on it. The hotel also decorated our bed beautifully with a sculpted towel and flower arrangement on account of us being on our honeymoon which was a nice touch, We also received a lovely fruit platter which I think all guests receive? Sang the Hotel Porter is a lovely guy and if you ask him he can point out some fantastic local restaurants you would not find on your own. The resort food is also very good if you choose to just stay within the resort. The only negative points we found were that when in the pool there is no shade. It is fairly exposed due to the fact there are not many trees surrounding the pool area to provide natural shade. We also discovered that when the paths within the grounds become wet they turn into ice skating rinks so just beware if wearing thongs etc. Overall my wife and I found the resort to be fantastic and the staff welcoming and we would definitely recommend staying here for your Ao Nang visit.

I like this hotel very much as it is located right at the center of every place (in Ao Nang), walking distance to MCD (200 meters), close to all massage parlours, eating places (street food as well as restaurants) and convenient stores. We found it so convenient to call for taxi (tuk-tuk) to head to Krabi Town or the other side of the beach with cheap fare or even booking for ground tour. Strongly recommended these 3 eating places (try google : Tom Ma Yum, Jungle Kitchen and Boat Noodles Ao Nang - reasonable price with superb food - within 1km from the hotel) I had a sea view room and the room is super spacious plus the bed (for Grand Superior room) was a super king sized bed which is so huge and comfy. Though the facade of the Hotel looks a bit old but the inside is awesome. The staff who did the cleaning every day really ensured our room is properly cleaned up. And also they have a super nice swimming pool which we enjoyed to the max. However, the down sides were the staff weren't that friendly (though they were not rude but I just wanted to say they should be more attentive to customer's requests.) Further, the breakfast was such a disappointment with limited and repetitive choices (staying there for 3 nights), I hope this only happened during the off-peak season (as May-July were monsoon season) Notwithstanding the same, I really like this hotel and i wish they could keep it up and maintain till I come back again in my next trip.

My kids loved the water slides and would spend all day on them if they could. Staff, room, breakfast all fine. Tap water in bathroom is quite salty. Biggest complaint is virtually no car parking. You have to hand over your car keys to the hotel who will then park your car in an undisclosed location. I didn't like this arrangement. Tourists want to be in Ao Nang, but Ao Nang is small and there is no more space. There's no space for car parks and very little space around the swimming pools. Food in hotel expensive, as usual, but plenty of restaurants nearby including some cheap ones if you're on a budget.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Fiore. The staff was attentive, the rooms were amazing, the pool area was very nice, and the breakfast spread had both local and western options that were tasty. The resort is about 1 1/2km from Ao Nang beach but the resort offers a free shuttle down to the beach front that runs at 11am, 2pm, 6pm, and 9pm so that you don’t have to take a taxi or walk. I saw in previous reviews that some guests had issues with the shuttle service to and from the rooms, however, we didn’t have any issues with the shuttle service. The rooms sit on the side of a hill so you have to take either the golf cart or mini truck shuttle up the hill. If you call them from your room ahead of time then you’ll never wait more than 5 minutes at the pickup point. There are also signs posted everywhere that says “please allow up to 10 minutes for shuttle service to arrive”. The resort offers motor bike rentals as well as tours to the surrounding islands. The prices at the resort were a bit more expensive then out on the walking street in Ao Nang so I would suggest checking down by the water front first before purchasing a tour from the resort. Overall we loved our stay and we will definitely be returning.

owing to ticketing changes we stayed at four hotels in ao nang. krabi resort is the only hotel with beach access, and has nice grounds. breakfast is varied and comprehensive, with many choices. i ggd weather this can be enjoyed on the terrace or inside. the cabanas and garden rooms looked excellent, as did the luxury rooms. the standard rooms are located next to the car park and have no privacy on the patio between rooms; but the rooms are spacious and beds comfy. there are no double beds in the standard rooms, but they said they could push two singles together- which was not ideakl as they had electrics in between and wall mounted headboards. we decided not to bother. bathroom is basic, with shower i had to play with shower head to work. small complaints given nice pool, good breakfast and comfy room. ao nang is not best beach but good starting point for island hopping.

Travelled in a group of 4 and booked 2 rooms from 14/8 to 17/8. Had a very pleasant welcome from Noolek and Noola who served us welcome drinks and introduced the hotel facilities. They even showed us up to our rooms. Our spacious rooms came with a king-sized bed & single bed and a balcony which faces the main road to Ao Nang Beach. They even provide 2 beach towels, 2 beach mats in a carry bag and 2 umbrellas in the rooms. Coffee, tea, mineral water, soft drinks, juice and a small packet of nuts (in the minibar) are complimentary and replenished daily. Buffet breakfast that was included in our room rates was simple yet widespread with an assortment of juices, fruits, salads, cold cuts, breads, cereals, international choices of main course, eggs station and variety of teas and coffees. As this hotel is still quite new, the bed is so comfortable, bed linen is crisp & white and bath towels are thick & fluffy. Rooms are cleaned daily and corridors are mopped twice daily. The location of this hotel is ideal. Ao Nang beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk away with lots of eateries, 7-11s, massage and shopping around it's vicinity. We enjoyed our stay at Sugar Marina and will be back for another visit soon.

Great value for money: Rooms are almost all the same size and layout. Rooms with access to pool and pool view (deluxe rooms) are 2-3x more expensive than superior rooms (same size rooms with same sitze balconys) only view to the back of the village. Go for superior rooms as they are cheaper and quieter. Nice big pool with nice sun loungers. One of the best hotels in Ao Nang. Maybe the best value for money you can get.

This was my second stay at Phra Nang Inn Hotel and I was just as satisfied as I was the first time. The hotel has probably the best location on Ao Nang. The hotel is about 20 feet from the ocean and right in the middle of the main strip of restaurants and shops so one never has to go far. The rooms are nicely decorated and the housekeeping staff cleans and stocks them quickly (normally before I even come back from breakfast). The breakfast is very good (bacon, ham, various breads, french toast, eggs-to-order, fried rice, breakfast potatoes, baked tomatoes, etc.) and the view from the tables looks out onto the beach. The pool is shaded at various parts and is very pretty. I have stayed at other locations in Ao Nang but this is my favorite, especially for the price. I would recommend staying here. Those who complain are probably too new to Southeast Asia to really know what the word "bad" really means here. This is certainly a nice hotel.

Marina Express is the best hotel in Ao Nang!!! Staff were very nice,especially the boy in the night shift. He helped me and my sister a lot. Hotel location is not near to the beach, around 15 mins walk to the beach, it's ok for me as I like quiet environment. 7-11,family mart,many cheap foods near by,very convenient. Room is not very big but clean and cozy,like its decoration a lot, very fresh! Breakfast not many food choices but taste good, coffees are very nice.

The location of the hotel is by the hillside which translated to own transport is a MUST. Be it with scooter,car or private car via Klook app. Once at the top, you will be greeted with calm serene forest and what a beautiful top view of ao nang beach. At the lobby during checked in, you will be served with welcome drinks which does quench the thirst as krabi is hot & humid. We did checked in abit early but the room was ready. The manager walked us through about the hotel, things to do in Ao Nang, island hopping package and last tour inside of our room. Thats our first time experience and it does feel bit more special compare with other hotels. The room is clean, generous with amenities, they also served couple of rambutans on the table which is cool. Bed is comfy and clean, TV channels mostly in Thai but you do get french and english channel. No iron and also no utensils i.e spoon,fork etc. Outside the room, you will have your own pool with sea view, breathtaking.

The resort is in a great location, off a side street in the Ao Nang area so it's quiet and feels remote. But you're just a short walk to anything you can think of (beaches, shopping, food). We got the ocean view suite which was phenomenal - but be warned there are a lot of steps/stairs (it's definitely worth it). Breakfast buffet was nothing special. Hotel pool was wonderful (great cocktails!). You get drink vouchers for each day, and drinks are buy one get one free in the afternoons so that was great. Hotel staff helped us arrange an island boat tour (at the same price as the tourist stands around Ao Nang) and even made us to-go breakfast bags! Get your shuttle bus tix upon exiting the airport in Krabi for a cheap ride to the hotel. Reserve your return trip in advance - we couldn't reach the company (we got a private taxi for a steal at the stand across the street instead). Pass on the spa. There are better massage places in Ao Nang. We felt rushed, and the massage wasn't good.

We were here from 3rd May to 6th Mayy 2016 and we booked a superior room. Location wise, it was very near to the Ao Nang beach area, just a 5 mins walk to the beachfront. For convenience, there is a 7 eleven store opposite the road from the hotel where we buy food and drinks whenever we don't feel like eating out. The room decor is clean, neat and simple. There is a spa on the top floor where we can try the jacuzzi at a cheap rate. The hotel is located on the stretch of road before turning into the Ao Nang beachfront. At night, it is quiet for a good night sleep as it was away from the hub center of the beach. Breakfast is a small spread of Asian Thai and western breakfast, where the Asian food is changed daily. The staffs attended to our queries and needs and overall i would recommend to stay here.

This must be one of the best hotels in Ao Nang. This is my first time here in Ao Nang and I swear if I were to go back to Ao Nang, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. Staffs were very attentive and very friendly. One of the staffs even came to our room to talk to us about attractions in Ao Nang when we mentioned that we have yet to plan anything for our trip in the front office. A very special thanks to Ella as well as she is very friendly and she will come and talk to you every morning during breakfast. Location wise, this hotel is very strategic. Opposite the hotel, there are bars, pharmacy, restaurants and even tailor shops! Below the hotel, there is a McDonalds. So if you're hungry and you prefer burgers for supper, this hotel is definitely the hotel you would want to stay in. There is only one thing that made us pretty sad which is the mosquitos in the room but what the heck, the town itself is filled with mosquitos as we were bugged by mosquitos as well when we were doing massage in an air conditioned room in some massage parlour. Therefore there is nothing to blame on this hotel. Stayed May 2013, traveled as a couple

We had one night at the end of our vacation in Ao Nang and were pleasantly surprised at the price for this great hotel. It is located a little off of the main street in Ao Nang, but there is a free shuttle that runs to and from town which is easy to use with a little planning. The family room was awesome. Very large, bunk beds for the kids which they loved, and a separate bedroom for us, which we loved! Pool was nice with nice shaded cabanas to relax in if you want to escape the heat for a bit. Great views of the limestone cliffs and we were in a great location so we could even take the 10 minute long tail to Railay for the day! Overall great experience. The only negative I would mention would be that in the morning when we were leaving, when I called the front desk to ask of someone could come help us with our luggage, they said they didnt have anyone and we would need to take care of it ourselves. Not a big deal, but you would think with a big hotel they would have someone.

Maneetel Krabi is a new hotel, which is not a bad thing among a little "worn out" resorts, that seem to be a "norm" at Ao Nang. Breakfast is reasonable and they try to change it a bit on daily basis. Personnel is relatively young and inexperienced, but they try their best. Location about 1 km away from central Ao Nang is just perfect, close enough to go there for dinner or shopping but away from the worst "hulabalo". Nice bars and restaurants are close by. Pool is well maintained and beach is close (even though on low tide the waterline is rather far away). Try to get pool access room with sea view, it is great. A bit small, but nothing beats the possibility to dip in the pool directly from your room. Bed is very good.

Lovely stay. Staff helpful and on site shop sold basic but enough for children's evening munchies. On site tourist organiser desk was great so we could book trips etc with ease. We had a car so zipping around was super easy. There are free 'bus' rides from the villas to Ao Nang beach for those without their own car. Can hire mopeds and cars at resort. Easy. Resort has small restaurant which makes ok food, but really useful on our late arrival. Also will gladly bring your food and drinks to your villa. We had the staff bring breakfast (Thai style best) everymorning which again made our stay easy. Prices of each item typically 150-250 TB (~£3-5). Beds comfortable and everything we needed. Pool nice and big enough. Areas for improvement all minor - more pillows (2 per bed) and shower always hot - couldn't turn temperature down to cool. We'll stay here again on our next visit to Krabi. :)))

We had a very positive stay at this hotel, although the location was not the greatest. It was a bit of a hike from the Ao Nang town and night life. It was across from the beach, but that beach had a lot of long tail boats parked in the way. The hotel staff and the actual accomodations were by far the best part. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel design is very quaint and pretty. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and so helpful. They helped us book several day trips and excursions, gave us lots of helpful information and even let us check out late due to a last minute trek we joined. They were the friendliest staff we met during our trip to Phuket, Phi Phi and Krabi.

We stayed in Ao Nang at the end of our family holiday for 4 nights. It was raining almost non stop most of the time, so were mostly grateful for a drop off service to Ao Nang beach, ability to watch films on Netflix and room service for stay inn meals. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful location, surrounded by the montains. The room is big enough for a family with two little children and breakfast is varied to suit the taste. We had few dinners in the restaurant, food was good, but not really thai. The pool was great on the last sunny day, children loved it. What we didn't like was the cleaning. They would clean the room only when you check out and if you happen to stay longer they wouldn't even change the towels or empty the rubbish bin. Even not if you put the label- make my room. Really a down point.

We had 4 very relaxing days around new year's eve at the peace laguna. Within the bustling town of Ao nang the peace laguna is a quiet and beautifully designed resort to get away from the noise in ao nang, but still only 5 walking minutes away from the beach and town center. The resort is big, has 3 swimming pools, pretty good breakfast (and that means something in Thailand) and a great view from the balcony to one of the region-typical rocks. As we stayed there over new year's eve we had to pay for the obligatory nye dinner (70€ per person) with a not very exciting show. The huge buffet was not very good and definitely wasn't worth the money. I even had my stomach mixed up from the buffet, which wasn't that much fun for the next 3 days. Don't buy water or drinks in the hotel, they charged me 50 baht for a small bottle of water (which would cost 7-10 at the supermarket and not more than 20 anywhere else) - I actually think the bartender made the price up, as they wer even higher than at the nye dinner. As we were travelling a lot within Thailand we were used to free pick up services from piers and airports, the peace laguna would have charged 300 baht for that, so we went with the ferry company. Besides that we loved the resort! Ao nang on the other hand is not really worth travelling to, especially at this time of the year it was overcrowded and way too busy, also the spots we went to on our 7 island trip were so busy that it wasn't much fun going there.

We found this place on our last trip to Ao Nang and said if we came back we would stay here. A year later we found ourselves doing just that. They have a premier location right in the heart of the beach strip. Now if you are after a fancy resort style hotel this isn't it, but if you want a large room, perfectly adequate clean basic hotel in the midst of all the action this place is perfect. They had a pool (we didn't use it...the beach is literally across the street), breakfast was a selection of all the usual basics (the pancakes are yummy). They have a large and very popular restaurant downstairs with a massive selection of dishes. We were travelling with our teenage daughter so got a mini suite which had a balcony overlooking the ocean which was fantastic and all the bar/restaurant/beach shopping/tour desks/taxis are at your doorstep. Couldn't fault the staff they were friendly, helpful and perfectly lovely. The cleaning ladies also do a fantastic selection of towel animals every day which never failed to put a smile on our faces. This isn't your fancy decor, modern or high tech hotel but if you are in Ao Nang for the sights beyond your hotel room door this is a great pick.

We stayed for 3 nights at Ao Nang Cliff View Resort from Nov. 15-18. The on-site Tour Company was great for arranging tours, with discounts for staying at the resort. The Resort restaurant had good food at a very reasonable price, probably the cheapest meal we had in Ao Nang, save for the street vendors. We had little to no problems with our room, which was a pool view touting a nice view of the pool and an amazing view of the cliffs surrounding the resort. We were situated above the gym but had no problems with noise. The pool was also excellent, cool and chlorinated with several (usually free) chairs to sun in. One small issue we had was with our bathroom, which had two small holes in the screen windows, enough to let several flies and mosquitoes in. A quick call to the front desk and they fixed it within minutes for us, bug-spraying the bathroom down as well. It was a bit far from the beach, but free shuttles every hour were extremely helpful. I don't recommend walking to/from town at night, though, as there are no lights to guide your way (if the moon isn't out, you're in trouble). Also, there is a rooster on-site which likes to crow in the morning; if you're a morning person, this shouldn't be a problem, but otherwise it can be very annoying. Overall, though, we had an excellent stay and highly recommend this resort to anyone.
