Beachfront hotels & places to stay

In my opinion, it’s still the best 5 stars hotel in RAK, the prices are okay for a five star hotel. But I think it’s time for a much needed renovation. I stayed in this hotel many times for the past four years, every time I see things showing wear and tear. The bathtubs needs maintenance, in all the rooms I stayed in they were chipped, which is unacceptable for a five starts hotel. The toilets should be cleaned better, many times I smelled urine and couple of times I saw some spots on the toilet, I don’t complain to the hotel so they don’t fire someone because of me. The bathroom sink area needs a deep clean, you can clearly see the silicone and it’s black and moldy. I also changed rooms because the toilet seat was broken, no way they didn’t notice that. Also the room randomly gets a foul smell, bathroom like smell from the AC unit, also I had to change my room because the AC unit wasn’t working probably. The furniture (especially sofas and cabinets) are poorly cleaned, they have stains on them, some are poorly fixed, I saw a white sofa that was sewed with a black thread poorly. You can clearly see dust everywhere, especially in corners and on top of cabinets and on the beautiful art they have. I stay for a long time every time , they only brought fruit platter once, they should bring one every single day, like most luxury hotels. It saddens me this is my last stay here, but I don’t like spending too much money in a hotel and not be happy. They should definitely improve and train their cleaning staff, and maintain what’s broken. Small details like these could lower their loyal customers. In the positive side, they try to help you have a better stay, they upgraded my room for free after waiting for a long time tho.

If you’re looking for Santorini, Greece vibes within UAE, this is your best bet. Massive property with plenty picturesque sights and extremely “insta-friendly” especially during sunset. The adults-only Laguna pool was a personal favourite. The downsides - amenities are a bit outdated and rough (old furniture and TVs, coarse bathrobes, cheap toiletries, etc) which take away the value for money factor. There is little difference between the standard/deluxe/premium rooms (you’re paying more for views with upgrades and not much else). Staff are hospitable and 5 star standard as is the location and property but not much else.

Having stayed many time in Dubai's 5 star hotels, with prices increasing we thought we would stay at the Al Hamra Golf. The price seemed to good to be true, however it really was good value for money. Not a 5 star hotel but a credible 4 star. The junior suite was large and good for the price. The main possitive was being able to use the Al Hamra Palace beach area. Also close by was the Al Hamra mall which was handy for food and shopping. Food was Ok My only complaints were the lack of Wifi but you can get around that by buying a drink in the English Pub. The front desk staff however were a big disappointment, not very helpful. One word of warning, on your last day, they will not let you stay on the property after you have checked out, unless you pay a 50% room rate for 6 hrs. We tried to book an extension and told that there were no rooms so had to leave. That being said we would go back as it was cheap for some winter sun compared to Dubai prices

I made a last minute booking on a third party website for our Anniversary (2 days and 1 night stay, half board). Our special day was last Friday (9th October) and I just made the booking on 8th October  so I called the hotel to confirmed my booking and to make a short notice special request for our special day like (cake, bedding arrangement) etc. Ms. Janet (booking & reservation) who is very kind assured me that my request will be noted. Well done Ms. Janet for taking care of this.   Even that there’s a (Covid) the Hotel is very much full plus it’s a weekend, Amazingly the Hotel handles it very well. Before you enter the hotel your temperature will be check in the gate and there are Marshalls in the lobby who will assist you and make sure that guests wears mask and follow social distancing, (the hotel staff will let you feel that you are safe while staying in the hotel).   Upon check-in I was assisted by Waleed of (Check-In Counter) and told him If he can arrange an early check-in and of course to give us a lovely location of our room because it’s our special day. We are so delighted to see that we had the best location of our room and as per my request they set up something special to our room even though on their website it mentioned that special request should be done 24 hours before, but still the Hotel didn’t disappoint me.  Applause for Mr. Waleed and also to Housekeeping for making this possible.   I also would like to commend the staff in the swimming pool area who gives beach towel, when that time that they run out of towels as promised by the staff (I forgot his name) he will bring the towel to us as expected less than 5 minutes we got our towels already.    For our dining experienced (Al Marjan Restaurant) we are lucky that Djosa who is very friendly, jolly and polite who assisted us in our table, she makes sure that we are being taking care of the hotel servers.  A big thanks to you guys.   Downside Comment: ( I thought that half board meal t

definitely one of the best hotels we ever stayed at, for sure the best in the middle east in our opinion. huge and beautiful territory, great for jogging or walking. numerous pools (6 i think, we haven't event tried them all) including temperature controlled and not. excellent facilities for children - a good playground, a good separate pool with a slide and an excellent kid's clud - kids paradise - with plenty of toys and extremely nice staff who keep children happy and occupied. very reasonable pricing for such a great kid's club too. our daugher loved it and didn't want to leave, the villa was very good, then we decided to stay one more night in a room, which was also perfect. impressed by the fact that despite the hotel was fully booked it did not feel crowded at all on the weekend because it has such a huge territory with pools spread out across it. plenty of food outlets, but the food is a bit pricy, 110 dirhams (30 dollars) for breakfast is expensive in my opinion, but then it is a 5-star hotel after all. overall - extremely, extremely pleased with everyting. the very first night back at home after this extended weekend we booked a full week at the end of april, can't wait to be back there.

i am a frequent guest of bin majid hotel and i can say that i really like and satisfied with my stay in every hotel i visited, i even recommend it with my friends and bring them that day (03 June 2015) but during my stay last 03 June 2015, i was disappointed with hotel staff's attitude. Security guard for night duty told us that it is not allowed to swim after 7pm. we followed their rules so we go back to room and stay there the whole night. we noticed that some of the guest (groups as well), they were in the swimming pool from the time we left until 11pm. take note that the pool is sorrounded by the cabana so we saw what is happening from the said time. by 11pm, we went out and sit near the pool. the said security guard approached us again with conviction that we are going to swim again. we denied, the fact that we are all in our pajamas, we told him also that he told us not to swim after 7pm and why those guests are still in the pool. he replied that they able to convinced him (Security Guard) so that he allowed them. we asked him if do we need to convinced him just to swim again. he said "yes", take note that he is just a Seucrity Guard (im sorry to say) but we are guest. who is he for us to convinced while we paid our stay there. plus, he scolded us in front of other guests like we are in a company accomodation and we need to follow the duty manager of the building. we escalate to the manager, but while talking to the Security Guard in front of the manager, he is still arrogant and let us feel the we need to please him for us to use the facilities. i am disappointed with the treatment and still serious of this issue. imagine, a guest scolded by the "Security Guard". i am still pursuing that management will do actions for this.

Pros 1. Clean hotel. Towels, blankets smells nice. 2. Complete toiletries 3. Friendly staff 4. Good food (breakfast buffet) with plenty of food choices 5. Amenitie s are very nice. I like that we can hear the speaker up to our room. 6. For people who likes to swim but doesn't wanna get dark its good that the building is blocking the sun so it's shady. 7. Many sports activities to choose from 8. Calm and clean beach. Chairs and sunbeds are well kept. 9. AC is very cool 10. Good location. Beachfront and near to hamra mall. Near marjan island. 11. Good for families Cons 1. They only have 2 elevators.

The holiday in Hilton Al Hamra was indeed a one to cherish. The facilities were just excellent and the sea view from my room was what I enjoyed the most. The staffs were all so caring and made it clear that we were at comfort. As it was holiday season, we faced heavy traffic at check in, and room allotment was delayed by 1 hour, as the room was not ready which was expected due to the high number of travellers in the hotel. The restaurants were found to be expensive, rather to check out goodies in Spinneys in Al Hamra mall which is just a km away from hotel. The private beach is the fun part. With excellent water sports and security provisions you will enjoy every bit of it. On the whole, its a holiday we shall always cherish Best Regards.. Jimin Jacob

Liked the location and the hotel facilities. Just a shame that I came here while the covid situation is still happening. Our room was so spacious. Loved the bathroom. Only thing was we had to request for dental kits, as we were expecting them to be ready since it’s a 5-star hotel. Had breakfast at Aysya. Food was great; only let down was the tough bacon. Concierge was very helpful and friendly. Nevertheless will definitely consider coming back when hopefully the covid issue is over.

A mixed bag. When we stayed in July only 2 restaurants were open along with the general buffet. However when we tried to book the restaurant we were told it was full (this was at 12 noon). Ok no problem we will use the buffet. A wide choice of mass produced mediocrity I am afraid. So marks down for the food. The option to pop into a café whenever you wanted a coffee was nice and there are endless supplies of ice cream for the kids which is good. The pools are all on top of each other and can be somewhat over crowded. The usual practise of placing towels on sun loungers and disappearing for the day was an issue. The hotel is frequented by many eastern Europeans and one woman could not understand why I was annoyed that she was letting her toddler urinate in the pool (he was standing on the side of the pool at the time). She was leaving the pool, what did she care! Facilities for teenagers was basically video games in a nice space. But my son is younger and was not allowed so he had to go to the other 'play area' which was mainly for toddlers. The staff were nice but the kids were unsupervised and again mostly eastern European. The hotel is located away from Ras Al Khaimah so you will need to get taxis if you want to leave the hotel. Perfect for us as the area was nice and quiet. Room was very comfortable and clean. The mojitos bar was quite nice but understaffed with slow service (to be fair they were great under pressure). Overall a decent hotel with some 5 star facilities

Excellent and helpful staff who can't do enough to help and make your stay enjoyable. Very comfortable room with everything needed. Breakfast is served as room service, limited choice but well presented and plenty of it. As long as you remember this is not a hotel as such, they offer well appointed comfortable serviced studio appartments in a residential area which represents value for money. I would recommend for a quiet get away.
