"There are plenty of cheaper places in Chiang Mai but that is not to say that Roseate was expensive. I found the hotel to be great value for money based on the above average standard and facilities. The room was a really good size so we could spread our stuff out and not literally have to live out of our rucksacks, also room service and fresh towels every day. In terms of location, Roseate is on the road just inside the rivee that surrounds the 'old city' of Chiang Mai. Within a 5 minute walk inwards, you soon come across both popular tourist and local restaurants, shops and massage parlours. Needless to say there is also a 7-Eleven just 30 seconds away also. Overall Chiang Mai is a lovely place that caters for couples, families and also travellers looking for a good time, particularly Zoe Corner. Also you must go to the Elephant Sancturay :)"

"Stay with Nimman was the best hotel we stayed at throughout our travels around Thailand. The price was amazing for such a great quality place. Everything in our room, from the sheets to the bathroom, was spotless. And free minibar and waters? Yes! It is a bit of a walk to old town, but it is easy to take one of those red trucks. Also, there is a lot to do around Stay with Nimman as it is a more modern growing location. A must try in Chiang Mai is khao soi noodles!"

"This accomodation has been great for what we wanted from our trip. The staff have gone out of their way to help us with having the best time chiang mai. The breakfast is amazing and there is a good amount of choice! The room is clean, has air conditioning and is cleaned every day. The location is great and in walking distance to many of the shops and markets. The staff are very friendly to all their guests. We organised a private half day tour when we arrived tosee the sites in the mountains and the owners took us themselves for a very reasonable price. We were able to go at our own pace and got to see a new special temple and met the head monk! What a pleasant and hospitable family. They have a wide variety of tours on offer for you to pick from if you arrive and have nothing planned. Overall we have enjoyed our stay here and have found this a very pleasant experience in Chiang Mai! I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a laid back and relaxed environment in Chiang Mai!!!"

"We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel is located in the Old City and close to a number of very interesting temples. As others pointed out, the bathrooms could use an upgrade but the hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, a large flat screen television with many English speaking channels. The Wi-Fi worked excellent in our room and everywhere in hotel. And did I mention they have a great little pool for cooling off after a hot day hiking around town? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk helped us book a trip to Chiang Rai and everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for the money. I'd also recommend booking your hotel with the included breakfast. The breakfast has a good selection of both western and Asian items and you could even get omelets or eggs cooked to order. Coffee, tea, juice, toast and a good selection of fresh fruits were also available. Next trip to Chiang Mai I won't need to research a place to stay, I'll be staying here."

"Chiang Mai Orchid is one of the oldest big hotel in the city. Its location is convenient for me who has business to do with Chiang Mai University but for most tourists, it might be more convenient to stay over the Nimanhemin Road for your night shopping/dining. Although the room and facility look a little too aged, the hotel is very big and they have pretty much most things we need....it is just not in the most stylish way as many other smaller boutique hotels in Chiang Mai will offer. But the hotel restaurant offered a very nice local food in a very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was also nice. In conclusion, although this place might be old and does not offer the fancy look to the visitor, it is clean and convenient."
