Where to stay in Kanazawa
Kanazawa hotels & accommodations
Cosy, clean with contemporary post-industrial design tatami room. It's located 3 bus stops away from Kanazawa Station and is just opposite the bus stop when you alight. As Kanazawa is a very small town, travelling to the main attractions from the hotel is just less than 15 mins by bus. There's a cafe on L1, shared dining space (tea room) on L5 and laundry area & vendin...
The room is beautifully decorated & modern. Lovely staff & reception. Close to Kanazawa station, accessible by walking through a shopping centre which had a large floor of restaurants to try. Very close to bus stop for JR sightseeing bus which was very convenient. Laundromat only has 2 available, so was constantly checking to see if they were free - if they could link...
The location is very convenient, a quick walk from the JR station with buses to get you anywhere you want to go in Kanazawa. The facilities are really really great, and the rooms are enormous for Japan! The free happy hour and free ramen hour are an amazing extra bonus, the noodles are delicious. Breakfast at the hotel is quite good, with quality food and a large varie...
Nice hotel. Very near train/bus station , especially the unlimited daily loop bus service to go around Kanazawa. Hotel is quiet, ckean, comfortable. The usual amenities are provided. Housekeeping did a good job. Highly recommended.
Location: The location is awesome, it is just next to Kanazawa station. From Kanazawa station, go to west gate, then turn left, the hotel is next to west gate door, u dont even need to cross the street at all, very convenient. Kanazawa station has many shops to shop and find food, very nice. Room: It is very tiny, this is the tiniest room i ve ever stayed in japan. ...
This is a wonderful hotel to stay in, when exploring Kanazawa. The railway station Kanazawa is about 5-10 mins by foot, the wonderful Oyama Shrine takes 3-5 mins. Right behind it starts the path to the castle ruins and next to it is the magnificent Kenroku-Garden - deemed one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan which I would definitely concur to! There are var...
Was staying in family room with 4 beds include breakfast. Hotel are clean and walk able from Kanazawa Station (only 500mtr). Room are enough for 4 persons with 4 huge luggage Bathroom are huge and clean... Variant breakfast buffet menu (mostly Japanese home cook style) but all foods always yummy... You can find Nato in here, Lotus steam and porridge also and I...
Super clean & new with Muji style aok wood design. Bigger room space as compared to other hotels in Japan. This is the first hotel providing unlimited midnight soba & all day juice, coffee & tea with some Japanese candies / sweet biscuits at the lobby area. The only down side is that you need to walk 5 mins with heavy luggage to the hotel from the Omicho Market bus st...
the location is close to the bus stop and there are shooping malls connected to the hotel and across the road. Their staff is very helpful and friendly. I was heading to Osaka from Kanazawa and would stay at a private homestay with no frontdesk to hold my luggages in Osaka. The staff was very helpful by trying their best to find the closest place where i could pick my...
The hotel location is pretty close to Kanazawa Station, the staffs are nice and helpful, the room is spacious and clean, there is massage chair inside the room, dedicated room for vending machines in several floors, and onsen, would love to visit kanazawa again and stay at Manten Hotel
Our family of 4 stayed in the deluxe twin room. I emailed the hotel directly to communicate on the booking, and the staff whom I was communicating with had excellent English and was super helpful, which made the entire booking process stress-free. The room had excellent facilities such as charging ports everywhere and the kitchenette had everything you need to prepare ...
Clean, no frill, good service and value for money given the price. Booked first night at SGD 120+ (Due to good friday weekend) and 2nd night at around SGD80+. Room is a bit cramp as usual for Japan hotel - business hotel. 10-12 mins walk from Kanazawa Station or take cab JPY 660-900 depends on traffic. Near to Kenrokuen n Kanazawa Castle too- via short cut walk. By cab...
If you are visiting Kanazawa book your room at Ryokusone asap! From beautiful decor, exceptional concierge and guest services, to the best food we have had in Japan, do yourself a favor and make sure you you stay with the folks at Ryokusone for at least one night. We selected breakfast only as an option, but judging by the amazing experience we had I can only imagine w...
I have been to a few hostels in Tokyo and Kanazawa and K's in Kanazawa is so far my favorite. The staff is incredibly nice, the location makes it easy to walk anywhere within 10 minutes, and for the price, you get a ton. There are other hostels in Kanawaza that are more expensive, yet I find K's to have everything you need at a very good price. I recommend booking a...
There always someone kind surrounding you especially Japan. My husband left his wallet in the cab without our knowing and we departed to another town. We gave a call to hotel when we noticed and the lady feel so bless to hear from us as the driver sent his wallet back to the hotel. nothing gone missing at all! Big thanks to mr driver and the everyone from h...
a nice and clean hotel with. Like the bathroom and toilet separated. The onsen/spa was pleasant. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel was a short walk from Kanazawa Station. if drinking water is provided then would be perfect.
Had been traveling many nights in various hotels in Japan and at the close of my visit, appreciated having some of the comforts of "home" - western style beds, towels, and space. Especially enjoyed taking family members to the top floor for a fabulous tepppanyaki dinner with a beautiful view of the city. Rooms were spacious, elegantly designed and service was thorough...
We spent two wonderful, relaxing nights at this superb hotel, just a couple of blocks from the famous Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle. The front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate our request to store our luggage before checkin and after checkout, graciously helping us with our heavy suitcases. We stayed in one of the lovely tatami rooms, Japanese sty...
I had an extremely pleasant and memorable 6-night stay at Kanazawa Sainoniwa Hotel. While the hotel itself is not close to Kanazawa Station (it probably takes 15 to 20 minutes on foot), it does provides free shuttle service, with an 11-seat shuttle van travelling at an interval of every 30 to 60 minutes. It is sufficiently convenient. On my first night, I only managed...
The hotel is just a mere 5 win walk from Kanazawa Station and is an excellent place to stay given its very affordable price and large rooms (at least for Japanese standards). I highly recommend the hotel for a no fuss stay in Kanazawa.
The location of the hotel is not the best one, it is in a Kanazawa district which is not really far from downtown, but you need to take a long walk to reach the city center. Still if the purpose is visiting Kanazawa the this hotel is a good option, it is clean, good rooms, the bed is a little small but I guess that always happens in Japan.
Hotel Kanazawa is located less than a 5 minutes walk from the eastern exit of JR Kanazawa Station, making it very convenient to get to especially after a long train trip. Right in front of the hotel is the local bus interchange/hub, where buses going to all corners of the city start their journey. Also, buses going to the famous attraction of Shirakawa-go depart from t...
This was the first stop of our two weeks in Japan, and we fell in love with Kanazawa and in large part to HATCHi. We booked a whole room for our group of 5, which came with 4 bunk beds (8 beds) and huge windows to look out onto the street. Beautiful any time of the day. The city is so quiet and it's a really short walk to everything we wanted to do in Kanazawa - the ol...
Stayed as a couple + two individual travelers in 2 rooms. Our arrival was a little crazy with a rare train issue causing a 2 hour delay but the staff were very understanding and helped us swiftly check in despite a little language barrier - our Japanese wasn't up to snuff but the owners were able to help with any questions we asked. Rooms were effectively equipped and ...
Good location! Huge room! Excellent service
Cozy hotel with creative design and comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay so sooooo much! Staff was very lovely and helpful. The hotel is next to Omicho Market and 5-10 mins walk to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden. But the hotel is located a little far from Kanazawa Station about 20 mins walk.
We stayed here for 1 night. To us, it is worth the money, as this hotel is the cheapest against other 'brand name' hotels in Kanazawa, but it is better if you have a car, since the location is not really convenient for ppl not having a car. It is clean, the size of the room is ok, helpful staff. Highly recommend the hotel to provide customers with free parking space...
Just stay here for 2 night to stop by to Shirakawago, the hotel location is next door JR Kanazawa Station, really strategies to continue your trip to next city (consider when we travel that time is snowing and hard for us to move around). The hotel is a little bit old and the room is small (typical business hotel in Japan), but clean and provide all basic amenities you...
Cheap places to stay in Kanazawa
Very clean, well organized and pleasant. Perfect location, close to the station, and walking distance to the market and all the sites. However, you have to be aware that it is very tiny. not for people traveling with lots of stuff of too bulky... the photos tell it.
The hostel is really central and at walking distance from all the sightseeing spots and from Kanazawa train station. It is extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. The best thing is the staff tho: the guy at the reception (can’t remember the name, sorry!) is super welcoming and chilled and when I asked him help to find a doctor he did everything he could to help m...

We enjoy walking, so the 10-25 minutes to all the top sights were nice for us. Great value for money. We were 4 minutes from the station, yet on a quiet street with one of the best and sake bars EVER with extremely professional connoisseurs. The hosts were so friendly and great to chat with. They were also so helpful in recommending spots to eat and drink in the town t...
We stayed one night in this Kanazawa guest house East mountain. The place is cozy, clean, tidy. Even though it is quite strange to sleep when walls are so thin and you know that there is someone behind this wall (there are no lockers in the rooms) :) The place is about 15min walking distance from Kanazawa station, and about 10min to Kenrokuen gardens. Overall, we rea...
The hostel is in a nice area of Kanazawa which is within walking distance of major attractions. It's very clean and comfy. The staff speaks English well and very helpful.
It was a pleasant single night there. The staff is friendly and provide explanations available in English as well. The dormitory part in itself is also very clean and there is everything you need : towels, pajamas, toothbrush, hair comb, beauty products ... A locker is available for you to put your bag in (not a suitcase tho, but there is a dedicated space for that too...
I took the tatami room for a couple. The house location is ideal quiet location between Kanazawa station and Omi-cho market and Kanazawa castle. The house has a very cozy feeling with reception area for free drinks and TV. Bathroom and Kitchen areas were very clean and the check-in, check-out was very easy. I will stay there again for my next trip to Kanazawa!
This was one of my favourite places. The staff Welcome was outstanding, warm and kind. This place is a bit different, it’s not about making money, but genuinely giving something back. The night I arrived they organised a meal for all of the guests to eat together and it was such a memorable evening, with lots of opportunity to chat and learn more about Kanazawa and Jap...

I travel to Shaq Bighouse when I was staying in Kanazawa. Although it is not situated near Kanazawa station, rather it situated near many tourist attractions include Ohmicho market, Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen. Simply take off the luggage and you can take just few minutes to walk there. The hostel is unlike what I lived in Japan previously. The concourse at ground fl...

Nice place to stay when ur in kanazawa, new building, very clean and all staffs are friendly. Location near to museums and kenrokuen garden
After 2 weeks in Japan, we stay 1 night in Kanazawa. From all those hostel and hotel we stayed, this is the best! Close to bus station, rent bike for 1 day for ¥400, kitchen to cook, laundry and specially the super nice kind and friendly host which even ride us to train station because of raining. He write on our map for places that he recommend us to go, and tell us i...

Kanazawa Station East gate have a map to show the walking direction. Easy to find. Very close to Castle Inn Kanazawa and Hotel Econo Kanazawa. 15 mins walk to the fish market and shopping centre around. Or you can take the bus to the shopping area. Very clean and nice walking area. The Onsen is very small. No Wifi and Internet in the room.
Stayed three nights there for the Kanazawa Marathon. Excellent location to the racer pack collection point and also the start line. The innkeepers waited at the window seats of the restaurant to cheer for the runners.
The hotel is just a mere 5 win walk from Kanazawa Station and is an excellent place to stay given its very affordable price and large rooms (at least for Japanese standards). I highly recommend the hotel for a no fuss stay in Kanazawa.
Location: Depends on your preference, Sararaso location can be very good or slightly out of the way. It's located in right along the river side and a picturesque neighborhood that's just 20 minutes leisure walk from 'downtown' Kanazawa. You can always rent their bike (highly recommended). We found ourselves walking all the way to the garden. Service: Sararaso was ac...
I visited Yuwaku because of the anime Hanasaku Iroha. I tried booking ryokan in Yuwaku, however, most of them don't serve one guest, so I had no choice but choose to stay in Yuwaku Guest House. I book the family room, which is big enough for a family, although I am the one and only one stay there. I have to set up my own bed before sleep because there is no one se...

Good hotel near al the sightseeing in town. I would recommend it to anybody, who want to be close to the gardens and Kanazawa castle. The stuff is very friendly and try to help. ☺

Cozy and comfortable place to stay. Wished I could have stay longer in Kanazawa. Location is a little bit far, but within walking distance from all the POIs, but it is in a quiet neighborhood.
We booked a small double room and did not expect that it was that small for two persons. Luckily the staff was kind enough to transfer us to a bigger room without any charge. The facilities are good with all the regular supplies you'd get from a hotel but the location is a bit far from city center. It will take one bus ride to get to the hotel and a bit of a walk which...

The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are very relaxing, and the onsen is amazing. If you are looking for a couple days of relaxation during hour trip, this is a great place to do it. Note, you should be comfortable with traditional Japanese food to really enjoy the experience. Definitely have the dinner. There is no lunch served on the property. Note, there are...
Kokusai hotel might be far from the city's centre but you can rent a bicycle and cycle your way to the most famous sightseeings. The service was very friendly and helpful. The actual room was spacious and had an incredible view. Everything was tidy and clean, nothing seemed to be out of order. I would most definitely book another night just to get away of the big city!...
the 3 Nights in the Square Hotel in Kanazawa provided the best hotel experience during our 3 weeks trip in Japan this year.
Only criticism is that room air conditioning was very ineffectual. Not able to control room temperature at all.
I stayed in this hotel for 1 night and was pretty satisfied with everything. Clean and spacious room (twin in the 8F), variety of food and drinks in baffle-style breakfast (both Japanese and western) and very friendly and helpful staff (a lady at the breakfast lounge offered me a unique Amazake, sweet drink made of fermented brown rice flavored with great tea!) Im Ja...
Our stay was extremely pleasant as we were blessed with a pleasant room, extremely helpful staff and sumptuous meals. It fulfilled our desire of a more unique and traditional stay and by far exceeded our expectations. Mikki, the female attendant who was helping us most of the time made our stay especially inviting as she was very warm and welcoming. On top of doing wh...
For 2 of us, the stand alone 2 level house with 3 rooms was just too big. We did not know that when we book. It should not be named as Ryokan, which usually include full service. Basically it was like renting a home, without any attending staff. The area is also in the middle of entertainment district with restaurants, bars and karaoke joints.
The location is little far away from Kanazawa station, especially in winter, the road was covered by snow, it took twice time carry the luggage from station to accommodation. So we sincerely recommend calling the taxi on check-in day.But the rest of it, it quite nice experience. The host is so kind to tell us lots of useful information for traveling. And also gave us his...
This is a phenomenal ryokan. My room was so comfortable - private onsen was heavenly. The staff took great care of me. I don’t speak a word of Japanese and did very well here. Just a delightful experience and the dinners and breakfasts were very VERY good.
Good service and very nice bath room, comfort bathtub and delicious breakfast, we like this hotel but a little faraway from JR. station
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our travel to Japan. It is a 10 - 15 min (flat, not hilly) walk to the main Kanazawa train station however definitely worth it if the price remains reasonable. Why its worth it? Great size rooms, super clean and tidy, large T.V with inbuilt Netflix for those rest days / evenings, basic but lovely toast breakfast complementary...
We stayed 4 nights at the brand new Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa and we were impressed by the design of this hotel from the entrance with a spray of essential oil, and the spectacular lobby to the room with a tasty touch of traditional and contemporary style: very well done! Congratulations! The staff is kind and dedicated. The location is perfect to visit this lovely ...

A nice place to visit, with lots of heritage buildings and good food for travels. A quiet place to relax yourself!
Stay 2 nights so that can have enough time to see the city. Clean city. Can board the highland bus to Shirakawa-go and Takayama.
The Omo-cho market is a must go...for fresh sashimi and street food. There is a noodle shop that also cooks them.
A beautiful city with treelined avenues and friendly citizens. Wonderful sightseeing and great food - particularly the exceptionally fresh fish.
Kanazawa is worth two days at most. If you have a JR train pass you'll probably make a stop before continuing on to Kyoto or Takayama.
One can cover the main tourist attractions by taking the loop bus from the railway station. It cost 500 yen- very reasonable
Omicho market was very interesting with a variety of seafood and eateries. Enjoyed the seafood lunch at the market.
Kanazawa has many historically interesting places, so it is best for travelers who wish to go to sightseeing instead of shopping or nightlife.
The people in Kanazawa are very friendly and make every effort to be helpful. As a result most experiences turn out to be very positive.
This is a wonderful city. There were many tourists with us sharing the cherry blossom grandeur, and most of them were Japanese which was great! The community is so friendly and helpful, and the city is well signposted for visitors.
Less crowded than the big city as Osaka, Tokyo, even the small touristic city as Kobe. However it is interesting to visit the kenrokuen garden and the fish market (15 mins by walk from the kanazawa station)
Kanazawa is a small city so it is easy to walk to most places so you don't need a car. It has a castle, beautiful garden and other historical sites.
Kanazawa ia also called little Kyoto. Rich in Japanese traditional upper class culture. Beautiful place to be.
Their Tourist Information Center is quite helpful (free internet and good English speakers) and gave me discount coupons for some attractions.
The city is very clean, the people is very nice and friendly. There also a festival which held every first Saturday in June every year.
This place is great - full of sight seeing and shopping, and most importantly the hotel offers free onsen (hotspring) so it is very good place to be in.
nice garden at kenrokuen, stumbled upon some firefly festival when we were there in june near the castle area, very nice
We went for the 'Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival', which was great, but we were also surprised at how lovely the city was in addition to this.
We walk from the hotel to Omachi market, follow by the Kanazawa castle. Next to the castle is the Kenrokuen garden.
Great garden, easy to travel to the garden, only 20-30 mins by bus, from the bus terminal. The small stores around the garden are interesting to visit.
It is a middle-sized city, with a very famous garden and a very famous contemporary museum, which was somewhat disappointing.
We basicly walked through all the major attractions from the ninja temple to kenrokuen garden to the samurai district.
Travel about 1 hours out from the main station can see beautiful natural surrounding, water flowing sound, mineral hotspring and mountains.
Place to visit in Kanazawa: Kenrokuen, Kanazawa castle, Geisha district, Samurai street, Ninja Temple.
Kanazawa is a very quiet and peaceful place. The must seen tourist destinations are Kanazawa castle, kenrokuen, Geisha district, Samurai district, and Ninja temple.
You can find so many attractions, Garden(Kenroku en ), Old towns(Tea Town, Buke), and fresh sea foods.
Many interesting places to visit in Kanazawa if you are interested with traditional Japan cultures. All these places can be reached easily with city loop bus
The city has good infrastructure to reach all attraction. The city bus schedule is frequent. The only drawback is the close time of shops in most attractions is too early (most at 5pm).
The fish market is excellent. You could sample seafood from the Sea of Japan and nearby areas. The garden is also excellent for strolling around and morning exercise.
Kanazawa is a small but historical city. People there are very kind and helpful if you need any recommendations of food, places to visit etc.
Kanazawa hotels with breakfast
There is a bar in the front and all drink is free of charge
Great facility!
An absolutely gorgeous and high quality hot spring hotel.
I love their interior design and most especially their bed.
Can't beat the location and the facility - the best!
So glad that we found this hotel for our trip in Kanazawa!
Very nice hotel with onsen services for visitors to enjoy
Of all the hotels we booked in Japan, this was the best!
One of the best hotel i have ever stayed
