I like how clean the hotel is and well furnished quite new , the staffs , bell boy were very friendly and helpful and welcoming to help me find my tour driver The room is cost and comfy and bed was comfy def worth it to stay in this one in Penang if wanna try out hotel Jen series of hotel rather than pay 1.5 more the price for a stay in sg one . Like the design of the hotel however the pool is abit disappointing and small there wasn’t much of a pool bar and there were construction going on at pool outdoor area side so it was messy . Overall still a comfortable and good stay with fresh vibes in room . The buffet breakfast however was not worth it , it was rather expensive and not very nice certain food were ok certain were not nice and the discounted price only comes if booking buffet breakfasts for all morning stays except first day . I booked only for one day as we ran late and had to settle breakfast at hotel and found it waste of $ for Malaysia price the buffet breakfast price is high All in all still a good stay I enjoyed n rested well but will be keen to try other hotels in Penang instead in future

This is a very good hotel. I love everything about it - its central location, the wonderful staff, the hardware (nice rooms), the non-smoking policy, the local food and taxi stand right outside the hotel, the free CAT bus you can catch at Komtar... Sunway Hotel has a non-smoking policy, though in reality there is 1 floor that allows smoking. The management could take the stand of disallowing smoking totally and make Sunway one of the very few hotels in Penang that does not allow indoor smoking. If guests are found to smoke in their rooms, the management should take strict action and insist that the guests abide by the non-smoking policy (or checkout), and verify that the misconduct is not repeated. Sunway has very nice hardware; the rooms are renovated and look new and pleasant. Coupled with a non-smoking policy and enforcement, it should appeal to contemporary travellers. The staff was very friendly, helpful and customer-oriented. I did not find any hotel employee who was lacking in service. For the other reviewers who rated them negatively, I think you need to remember that it takes two hands to clap; if you smile and ask them nicely, they will reciprocate in like manner. I thought their service was excellent. Extra info on the taxi fares - RM45 from the airport if you purchase a coupon from the airport limo counter outside the airport terminal; RM40 to the airport if you just take a taxi outside the hotel. I am a contented customer and will definitely stay at Sunway Hotel again for my next visit to Penang.

I visted Penang often and have experienced staying at various hotels in Penang. So Far my preference is still Cititel Hotel which is very friendly and efficient. The check-in and checkout were hassle free (cannot recall the front desk staff names)and better still the greetings and smiles made me felt very welcome ... I love the car park located on Level 2 & 3. I can access the Lobby Lift and go straight up to my room (via choice of 4 very fast Lifts). Oh yes the Dragon, constructed using recycled mineral water plastic bottle is still being displayed in the Lobby. Great for photos!

This was my first stay of this hotel and also the my first time that outside the Georgetown. Reason being choosen this hotel was due to Hari Raya festival and most hotel in Penang island were fully booked or very high price. The hotel is clean and I feel very comfort with my family staying this hotel. The breakfast is great as they serve vegetarian choices (i.e. vege prawn, chick, etc) during our stay. Will come back this hotel again in future.

Our stay at The Royale Bintang Penang Hotel was a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is very conveniently located to anything and everything you would want to see. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant also provides a very comprehensive and well rounded morning buffet. The manager who greeted and seated us was especially pleasant and it was a nice welcome. I would also like to say that management is also very pleasant. I wanted to mention this because we ran into a nicely dressed gentlemen who must have been the general manager in the elevator and then outside the restaurant. I am sorry I didn't get his name, but he took time to explain some of the history of his hotel. His warm and friendly manner was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to have a memorable stay in Penang.

Had a one night stay during my recent business trip. Everyone was saying that this is the best hotel they had ever stay of all the business trips we travelled around Malaysia. Back to this hotel, I would say the location is quite strategic and there is a shopping mall beside this hotel. This hotel is quite near to Penang bridge so if you opt to travel to the island for a visit is definitely not a major issue but provided you must have a car to travel around to try the local food. Hotel room is spacious, clean, modern, air-conditioner is very cooling, touch and go security to access to the rooms, free wifi provided, security box, breakfast was good and comparable to Cititel Penang and Bayview Hotel in the island. This hotel is a much better choice for both business or family vacation as compare to the opposite road Pearl View Hotel which is a nightmare for me.

I travel to Penang frequently, it can be difficult to find a descent hotel there, they are either extremely expensive or not very nice. Many hotels in Penang are horribly run often with my bare minimum of a clean room not being met, and often the staff can be downright miserable. But the Flamingo is the exception. The have clean, nice rooms and a friendly staff. The pool and pool bar are very relaxing, the bar tender is friendly and makes a great pina colada. The breakfast is the best I have found in Penang even at much pricier resorts. The location is great. Far from the airport but, central to Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi.

This is my second time staying at Lone Pine. We got there early and instead of waiting, we were immediately upgraded to a garden room, and yet, another great stay! I've always loved the breakfast buffet. There's a big variety, from toast to kuey teow goreng cooked when ordered, and cereal to nasi lemak with sambal udang. The garden and hammocks complete my short relaxing trip to Penang. It is simply the best hotel in Penang.

We checked in around 2.30pm but were made to wait until 3.15pm because our room was not ready yet. We then learned that they actually wanted to give us one of the best rooms for the price we paid, hence the wait. Around 5.30pm, there was a knock on the door and they surprised us with an anniversary cake together with a card signed by the staff. We were humbly surprised and happy at the same time. They took our remark during online booking seriously. They had also gave us a complimentary fruit cake for the delay during check in. What more can we say. We had a pleasant stay at one of the best hotels in Penang. Will we come back again? Of course! Truly some of the best hospitalities we've seen so far. Kudos!! Special shoutout to En. When I first booked the hotel, didn't know what to expect since it's located in a 'not so happening' area of Penang. What greeted me simply blew me away: a modern hotel with very friendly & attentive staff. Check in was very straightforward & since I had already informed the hotel about my wheelchair bound mum, they even had it ready for her! The staff are always smiling & greeting you at every available opportunity. They even offered free cotton candy from the cotton candy maker located next to d reception. The welcome drink and cold face towel were so refreshing too. The room is not too big but very tastefully decorated with modern fittings. The king-sized bed was massive! Very comfy & soft pillows too. All items found in d mini bar are free (coke, water bottles & a can of Chrysanthemum tea). It's an open wardrobe here. Bathrobe is provided. TV has a number of good Astro channels. Breakfast was the best: awesome variety & delicious. Free coffee at lobby. Will definitely come again.

Stayed: 2 Night, Sky Terrace Suite Thumbs up: Chris meeting us upon arrival at the lobby & gave us speedy check in. Ensuring us for a room as we were early. Went for lunch & chris met us at the hotel’s restaurant( makan kitchen) personally to pass the room cards to us ensuring everything is all ready. Shanaka: for always checking up on my partner & i. Asking about the quality of the food & remembered that we didnt finished our nasi goreng even asked if there was something wrong. Went the extra miles to find a florist near the hotel that i could arrange for flower delivery for my partner. Beautiful room, nice view. Warm staffs from start to end. Truly a DoubleTree standard. The best DoubleTree in Malaysia. Staffs from JB & KL should learn from Penang as staffs here are way more warmer & friendlier.

1st time we came to Penang, we stayed here because of the location. It is at the very top of jalan penang and there are so many things around. Bars behind the hotel, places to eat within 2 minutes walk, street market within 3 minutes and at the end of the street market, shopping centers are pretty much accross the road! Although there are other hotels that are located on jalan penang itself, bayview still wins hands down on location. The fact that its at the top of the street means a slightly quieter atmosphere. I mean, you don't want to step out of the hotel 1st thing in the morning to see some locals sleeping on the street, do you? Because that's what you'd get if you stay at the hotels on jalan penang. The band they constantly have performing each night is very good too. Sometimes after a hot day walking around or shopping or whatever you do in penang, you just want to relax and have a drink or two and listen to the band singing your all time favourites and do shout outs when you request a song (or 10!). We came back to penang a year later. And even though we originally wanted to stay in a resort around batu ferringhi, we decided we loved bayview the 1st time and we'd show that appreciation by returning. And were we glad we did. We arrived in the island quite late and was exhausted. We checked in at about 11:30 pm and Izhan (forgot the spelling of the name) asked if this was our first time in penang, so we told him we were there the previous year. After what seemed like 5 seconds, he thanked us for returning to bayview and upgraded us from superior room to premier! That's not even the next level of room up (superior then deluxe then premier then suite). At 11:30 at night after a long flight, I don't ever remember having much energy but I was jumping up and down. So thank you! Overall, aside from location, value, facilities available and all other things they advertise, experience like mine is not something you always get at other hotels. Thumbs up

berjaya penang hotel, not very impressive when i just arrived. building facade looks old. receptionists and doorman was friendly and helpful as this was my first time to penang. but after i checked into the room, im very impressed with the room size! its huge! bathroom was alright only but well who sleep there? just next door, there is a small shopping mall, 24 hours minimart, hair saloon, thai massage, chinese food eatery shop, all amazing! it's really recommended. there are free shuttle bus service to island and gleaegleas hospital and as well to gurney shopping centre. everything was easy accessible at this hotel, truly recommended!!

This hotel/resort is the best value for money hotel in Penang. We paid half the price of hotels in Batu Ferringhi but certainly received far far better than half the value. The hotel is brilliantly located at Tanjung Bungha, halfway between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi with the regular air conditioned rapid bus service travelling in both directions. [Georgetown RM2 & Batu Ferringhi RM1.40]. The suite we had was fantastic with views over both the bay and the hills.The pool area is terrific and the beach is good with all water sports at your disposal.We have now stayed at this hotel twice [having previously stayed at Batu Ferringhi 3 times] and we will be returning to Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort for our third stay in October.

Le Dream hotel is THE hotel I wish to recommend to everyone seeing my post. It is located at a unglamour street at Georgetown but the hotel, staffs and room is one of the best I had encountered. When I arrived on day 1, I was greeted by the friendly staffs and their manager at counter, Rita Lee took the effort to remember my name and addressed me by my name. Throughtout my stay, I was greeted and addressed by my name. Ask yourself which hotel you had went to had greeted by your name throughout your stay even from day 1. Even 5 star hotels do not do that unless you are VIP. Location wise, once you are out of the hotel, round the corner there is a local coffeeshop. Opposite the hotel there cafe and restaurants. 5mins walk to Komtar bus terminal and Pragnin mall. 10mins walk to Penang street art and many museums around that area. Room is fantastic. Nice pillows, soft bed and bathroom comes with the traditional Japanese wooden bucket and stool for bathing. Love it so much. This hotel even provide free 2kg laundry and free happy hour drinks at their rooftop bar. A lot of guests are couples and I can sense the sweet looks on their face. If anyone wants to visit Penang, this is the hotel you should go.

The room was clean. New hotel. I stayed for 4 days 3 nights on the 4th floor, the room view was a carpark but its ok. Quiet room. There is room amenities from 5 star service, WIFI is strong. The best part is its near to Gurney Drive Walking distance around 10 minutes - 15 minutes. I recommend you to use Linkbike app ( a bicycle services) that allows you to get around the town, there are two stations (linkbike) infront of the hotel sides. All you need to do is download the app and scan the bike docking station to retrieve your bicycle. You can cycle to the city center, it takes around 2- 3 Km (20-30minutes) Travelling by bicycle is the best choice to find local tourism sites and food location. The only set back is the you need a phone GPS to guide you around.If you lost your way, just get a GRAB taxi to bring you back to the hotel.. Another place to recommend to get around is using a rental motorcycle LA Vespa Bike rental 440-B, Chulia St, Georgetown, 10200 George Town, Penang

Firstly, I had stayed at this hotel together with my family members from 15 to 20 May 2019 and I must say that this hotel really made us feel like home. Not only are our apartments very spacious which provides us with more than enough space to place our belongings and also walk around comfortably but our apartments were also very clean and tidy. The simple wooden design of our apartments also gave us a very relaxing vibe. Most importantly, every apartment comes with a living room, a bedroom and an ensuite bathroom which is hard to find in Penang at an affordable price. Secondly, this hotel is being situated in George Town which makes travelling to many must visit places in the vicinity so much convenient. We are all very impressed with the automated carpark system in this hotel as well (the first of its kind in Penang). Lastly, the staff members working in this hotel were all very polite and friendly during our stay there. Will definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again =D

Stayed for 3 nights at CBPR. Although the building and mot of the furnitures are outdated but they impressed me and my family by the good facilities that were provided. When I first checked in, I found out that the air-con at the living area and the balcony sliding door were not functioning well. The management responded swiftly by sending one of their maintenance staff to my unit within few minutes. It's a cheap deal for those who come in group to Penang.

first time staying at peranakan boutique hotel in penang, i believe panaga is the best among all! when i first arrived at the hotel entrance, first sight of this old corner heritage building has already amazed me! designed by famous local architect hijjas kasturi, he make sure every corner of this hotel will suprise you! 3storey building, different theme disgin of every floor and every room! perfectly matching of old & new, give you such wonderful experince of stay! i like the traditional wooden blind window, allows perfect natural lighting shine into your room! try to request to stay on 3rd floor, extream high ceiling and nice deco. breakfast is awesome, especially the various of traditional nyonya kuih, ensure you fall into truly peranakan feeling. the small swimming is nice, best to chill yourself during hot weather.
