Fits our purpose of stay”
The high-floor room had a view of the city and many major Countdown 2023 sites in Chiang Mai. The midnight view of fireworks and sky lanterns was uplifting. Our initial allotted room had a different view but thanks to the helpful staff at the reception who changed it upon our request. The room had shown its age but was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great (for our undemanding palate). The hotel was located at a happening area with many stalls, restaurants, shops and was near to the popular Tapae Gate where a Countdown party took place. Our stay at Duangtawan gave us what we wanted/expected for a good night stay.

Very nice hotel in perfect location. Night bazzar is a 3 minute walk, nightlife area is 2 minutes away. Lots of great eateries very close. Laundry facilities across the road. Breakfast was so so. The room was fantastic. A little tip about booking a room. Get the junior suite it is about 500baht more but has its advantages. You get a separate lounge room, 2 full bathrooms Plus you get miiday snacks, free afternoon tea 2 cocktails per person daily and free airport transfers which if paid for could cost 2000baht per night so you actually save money by getting a much better room. Would we go there again YES YES YES

I have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions, over the years. I am a regular traveler to Chiang Mai and have stayed at 7 different hotels in the same location over 10 years. Duangtawan hotel is definitely my favourite and future preference. Staff are really good and friendly, rooms are spacious and clean. Well done to the staff team at Duangtawan! See you next year!

Valued Stay”
Not knowing the area my cousin and I chose this. There were a few small restaurants worth walking to near by. One can easily walk down to Chinatown from here. It has a Grand Entrance. Go straight in and find the elevators and take that to the second second floor to find the front desk. It's so big that we were a bit confused where to check in at. I bet 15-20 years ago (or maybe just pre covid) this place was it. That being said, We had no troubles overall and the stay was very plesant.. bathrooms need to be updated, but functional :)

my wife and I just spent 8 days in Chiangmai and all nights spent at the Duangtawan Hotel. While CM suffers from a lack of tourists due to Covid the staff at the hotel were always ready to help. Still a pretty, darn delicious buffet breakfast , nice room, and great (and clean) outdoor pool

Old but lovable charm in great location”
The Duwangtawan like other hotels the last couple of years is struggling with post Covid recovery. It still has its Thai charm in appearance and wonderful views out the windows of most rooms. The breakfast has fewer choices but plenty to choose from, it is filling and still has the omelet chef. Rooms are spacious. Some have been remodeled. Maintenance issues were dealt with in a timely fashion by staff. Great exercise area and swimming pool. The location is right in the heart of the Night Bazaar district. It is easy to walk to many places in the area. The best benefit here is the staff who are helpful, friendly and professional. We have stayed here many times over the years and still return since it is tough to beat the value it has to offer.

Chiangmai June 2022”
Chiangmai is emerging out from under the pandemic. While covid is still a global problem the local folks here are ready for the tourists to return. The Duangtawan Hotel is no exception. The staff are helpful and the breakfast buffet is still bountiful. There are plenty of delicious international restaurants not to mention all of the fantastic northern Thai local restaurants. Fantastic hotel, had it virtually to my self”
Great hotel, in the middle of what would have normally been the hustle and bustle, unfortunately with Covid and the hotel only being open 3 days or so there were only a few people there, that being said the staff were amazing couldn’t do enough, I appreciate that due to the reduction of guests the breakfast and meal situation was impacted which is understandable. I received an upgrade to a higher floor and larger room which was an added bonus. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is after a great hotel with fabulous facilities, when it’s busy ensure you come down to breakfast early as it can get busy.

The aircon should have been well maintained”
overall, the hotel was great. next to the chang kan night market, large room, wonderful city view, nice staff. however, the aricon was bad. you can't change the temperature. the drainage system may have probelm too. if you don't have the aircon on, you will smell the unconfortable odor.

Have stayed here several times and would recommend to anyone. Large well appointed hotel with fantastic gym and pool. Large well maintained rooms, great breakfast and in the best location in Chiang Mai, right in the middle of the entertainment district close to everything you would need when travelling as a tourist or for business . On this trip I lucked out with a super good rate.

Not enough words allowed to properly review.”
We had a superior room with a king bed overlooking the pool. It was a nice clean large room. We wanted a higher floor but the only available were queen beds. We should have looked at one of those rooms because the king was like sleeping on stone. My only regret was not changing rooms. But that is our fault not the hotels. The Duangtawan is very nice clean great staff, but could use a little freshening up. The rooms are good, but the carpets on the guestroom floors are a bit stained and not reflective of the rest of the hotel. The pool is nice, very large and clean. We had breakfast included. It was good with many choices. The only issue I found is they make too many eggs ahead and though placed under lights, they are not proper heat lamps and the eggs are cold. They will warm them for you if asked but we all know that doesn't make an egg better only a bit over cooked. I always asked for fresh cooked and it was done but reluctantly. Or just get an omelet. Those have to be made to order.
