Loved staying at the Embassy. Perhaps she isn't as luxurious as she used to be, but she has charm! I felt aesthetically terrorized by the hallways, but the rooms are beautiful. None of the cheap looking hotel furniture from gut renovated places. Pretty curtains, chairs, and lamps. The bed was comfortable. All in all I would recommend :)

Great option, close to transit!”
Rooms were well furnished, hotel has a vibe that it's been there a while, but in a good way! Room was great, hotel is pretty no-nonsense, no amenities besides some seating above the entry with small side-tables. We enjoyed this place as the streets directly surrounding it were pretty safe, but two blocks down it was pretty rough. It was only a 5-min walk to the public transit rail that can take you all over the place, it was really wonderful! Plenty of food within walking distance. Staff was helpful and kind, no complaints from us!

Classic hotel”
for a hotel built in 1932, it is very clean and well put together. Of course it doesn't have the updated features like a gym, pool or breakfast. We still enjoyed our stay in a very clean room with secure parking lot (extra)

Old hotel near Civic center ”
This is a very old hotel but has been taken care of. Doesn't appear to have been gutted and everything replaced but what is there has been taken care of with fresh paint and upgrades where possible. Good choice of location if you're needing to be near Civic center. Food close by. Not enough parking for all the rooms so we had to park several blocks away and pay $60 for two days. If you chill easily, you may want to not stay here. They use old style radiators to heat the rooms. It got hot in our room so I turned it off, then it wouldn't come back on when I turned it on. Then in the middle of night it came on and it got too hot in the room again. So I turned it off. Then in the morning when it had cooled off in our room again, it wouldn't come back on. One more cause for concern was that the smoke detector in our room had plastic over it. I'm pretty sure this makes it ineffective. I do however think , if the price was right, I'd stay here again.

A Corrupted Beautiful Nightmare”
The staff was exceptionally nice, if it wasn’t for the outside corruption with the slave patrol and informants this hotel would be a high world class establishment. You get what you pay for so I suppose the price makes up for the street theatre and gems hidden in plain site in your room. Every cause has an effect, and every action has a response and a reaction. If you want a bit of comfort and don’t mind being observed and surveillance then this is the perfect place for the price, but if you want a safe place to vent and be flawed without being picked apart then no amount of money in this place will give you peace unless your room is not facing the Main Street.

Ask to be on the inside /Top floor. The furniture was from The Ritz Carlton! Very Comfy and spacious. The area is a bit scary with homeless etc. but once in you are in your room, you're safe. BILL is THE BEST!

The hotel is very nice and clean, the rooms are nice. There are no facilities besides the great parking, which they charge 30$ per night. The hotel is close to everything and the public transportaion is convient. One point, it is close to the tenderlon area, where there are many homless ppl, but they dont bother. I stay in this hotel almost every time, and the rate is cheap, and i love it.

Nice Boutique Hotel”
Pros: I found that the staff were great and the room was kept very clean. WIFI was good speed. Very cool trendy boutique hotel. The White Chapel speak easy was a interesting place to get a drink. Cons: Facilities were dated, i understand that they want to keep the 20's motif. However, my room had no thermostat, The shower needed a reno (please replace the shower handles). Unfortunately the hotel is very close to the "tenderloin" of San Fran, so be prepared for many homeless folks near by. Also because of the bike paths in front of the hotel, no cabs/uber/lyft can stop in front of the hotel. You typically have to be picked up\dropped off across the street.
