Stayed in mitte. Very close to s bahn about 100 metres. Also u bahn few hundred metres away. WiFi very good if need it (like some people I know truly depend free wi-fi) Good price and value for money

If your in Europe to party, you have found your place. If your a family traveling or on business steer clear. Also no AC. Quite hot as there is no AC or good ventilation.

Saw this in Agoda but this actually refers to 1 bed in any *shared* room. Unfortunately someone in the room has COVID. And noise is really a problem. Design of the building makes any noise travel up to all rooms. Eg when someone bangs to shut the window at night. I was sick and was kept awake so many times at night. And some random screams from other users in the hostel. Generally it's more quiet after 2am.

Good Hostel in Berlin”
If you are looking for a hostel stay, then Generator Berlin Mitte is a good choice. Each bunk bed has a power supply and a draw that can be locked with a padlock. Each dormitory of beds has a shared toilet and shower. It is in a good location, with many local restaurants and a few bars nearby, Staff were pleasant.

Great value and location”
I stayed in a four bed room with private shower and toilet. The room is very clean and well furnished but only the toilet has a smell and the shower head is kind of blocked. Also there is no kitchen and you are not allowed to bring outside food in. There is also no hair dryer for borrowing. The staffs are helpful but not the friendliest I would stay. But overall, this place is a great value, is come again if I have a low budget.

That was really a nice place. That was really close any spot like famous shopping mall, restaurants. And also the workers are so kind. But the room was cold for me. So i think this hotel need to prepare some more blanket or heater.

The room was clean and new, and it’s not crowded. However, the bathroom smelled so bad. The smell seemed to be coming from the drain. Plus, there’s no kitchen so cooking was impossible

Nice Hostel but trapped by Agoda”
The Hostel is OK, best thing is the reception attendance, nice and kind people working there... However, mi room was not what I originally paid for, Agoda photos and information was misleading and found the surprise just when I was there.... Agoda support is unhelpful... Certainly, I won't return to Agoda anymore

brownish water flowing from tap”
got a shock when I opened the tap in the bathroom and brownish water came out. took like 5 seconds before the water slowly became clear. maybe they assigned me a room that hasn't been used for too long? The lift system to the rooms was also a bit confusing to navigate. tried to ask for earlier check in at 12 noon, but was told it would be ready by 1pm. then it dragged on all the way till 2pm because they could not get the room ready in time. I would have better used my time instead of waiting around for them to be ready.

Cool, young hotel in a central area”
Newish hostel in the Mitte area. Very convenient to S and U Bahn and walking distance to a lot of attractions (Museum Island, Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate etc.). Oranienburger Strasse, where Generator is located attracts a lot of young tourists on trashy weekenders and there are lots of bars and bad restaurants catering to that crowd. We didn't find that scene very enjoyable compared to other districts in Berlin, but the area is still great if you are only staying for a few days and just want to stay central. The quirky/colourful/industrial design of the hostel is really appealing and the staff are young, energetic and mostly very friendly and helpful. Everything is pretty new but the beds were quite hard and not comfortable. The showers in bathrooms were great though. The cafe food was decent and the bar has a nice social vibe. For the level of comfort, Generator seemed somewhat overpriced compared to other budget accommodation in Berlin, but this might be typical of the Mitte area. Overall, Generator has a nice atmosphere and is pretty good for a couple of days stay.

First the advantages. Clean. Modern. The vibe. Fourth-floor dorm rooms seem to be free of noise from downstairs. Double shower room for 8-men dorm. The Bads. The breakfast expensive as there's little selections and they charge you for 5.5 euros (you get for 4.5 euros only if you decide it on the first day of arrival). Especially I need to mention the coffee tastes like piss because they don't use coffee beans. Instead it's some Nescafé instant coffee. Imagine the whole package for 5.5 euros. Other hostels provide way better values. Second, my 8-men dorm was cramped so no chairs and tables. I have never seen a dorm room so small that when everyone lay out their luggage or backpacks there's hardly any more space. The bunk beds are meticulously arranged to maximize the area use so they are next to each other, which gives you headaches every time you return to dorm or get a shower as all your clothes had to be thrown on the bed. The ugly. They have bars and restaurants on the ground floor. It seems convenient. But they charge you at a premium. Imagine a burger at 8.5 euros. If everything, try this hostel if you feel like it. On paper, it is a good choice. I still think it's a good choice. But you've got some compromises. Among them bad breakfasts and small cramped rooms. I personally will avoid Generator next time in Berlin (and in other cities where Generator operates. )

5 mins walk from metro station and easy to find. people is nice and helpful. Design of Generator Hostel is modern and chic. Room is tidy and clean and the most important thing is the wifi is very smooth and fast! Generator Hostel is my 1st priority choice if I'm going to travel berlin again!
