“Good for travellers on a budget”
this is a small hotel that is actually a bit of a walking distance away from the train stations (10min) and city centre (25-30min walk). it is located a bit away from the main road in smaller, not as well lit streets, so i would not really recommend for solo/2 female travellers who scare easily/those on the more cautious side. however, the area does feel safe and quiet as it just seems residential with quite a number of hostels/hotels in the area. there is a convenience store (mini stop) just a few steps away from the hotel. the hotel is very strict about check in timing, and only allows check in exactly at 4pm onwards, not a minute earlier. there are also some steps to take while checking in that do take a while, you have to fill in a form on their tablet. luggage storage is available at the lobby before check in and after check out for free. space is limited though. there is a water dispenser, 2 coin laundry machines, a microwave oven on the first floor, as well as a smoking room right behind reception. there is a self-service trolley for some amenities like toothbrushes, combs, towels. room cleanliness was good other than the middle bed sheet having a stain. we reported this to a staff one of the mornings after which they didnt take action, and only that night when we informed another staff, they changed the sheets for us within the night itself. there may be some disparity in the receptiveness and responsiveness between the staff members. something to note is that there are many izakaya and eateries around the hotel, but our personal experience was that a lot of these smaller / independent eateries do not really welcome foreigners. this was so experienced by other groups of tourists we encountered in the area. so i’d say do not go nearby looking for food on a really hungry stomach.
