The hotel at a year old is still being built. Overall we enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. Individual remote controlled a/c does it's job well. Lobby and beach restaurants are excelllent. Beautiful beach, killer sunsets. Stangely the pool was built at the lobby level of the resort instead of down the hill at the beach which makes it almost useless. Pier arrival and access roads to the hotel are not for the faint of heart. The tide level in the afternoon when we arrived required a short step climb onto the pier but bags were handled by boat and beach staff. Cons: Internet reception was lousy except near the lobby and beach restaurant. Strange since they are equipped with high definition tv reception. The hotel like most of the hotels in Koh Kood is isolated from what little there is to do on the island. No nightlife to speak of. We rented a hotel moterbike for two days to see the island and it was well worth it. A note of caution however, I have been riding all types of motorcycles for forty years and still the rutted dirt "road" from the hotel to the "highway" was was a challenge for me with two of us on board. Part of the island's roads are not paved and the ones that are are very narrow. Use extreme caution, riding here the roads take a toll on the bikes. We got a flat tire going down a hill and barely skidded into a motorbike repair shop. My girlfriend is Thai so we got fixed for 5 bucks and were on our way 20 minutes later. Rustic might be a good way to describe the few villages and beautiful waterfalls. There are a few police posts and even a small hospital with an ambulance but I would advise being in good health before coming here to avoid a medical evac for anything serious. At night you are stuck at the resort with it's excellent restaurant. Even I wouldn't venture out on that road at night on a motorbike which is also against their policy. Not that there is anyplace to go. Overall good experience for 4-5 days max.

Koh ood resort is located in Bang Bao Bay, one of the best beaches on the island, clear water and a very characteristic wooden pier. The resort is well maintained, nestled in a tropical garden. The very clean bungalows are in traditional wooden style, with very neat furnishings: large bathrooms, mosquito net on the large bed, aircon, TV, minibar, and equipped veranda and some with sea view. Restaurant serves Thai and some West dishes. Prepared English speaking staff. Possibility to rent scooters directly in the structure (necessary to visit the island). Reasonable price, especially in low season, although you can find lower level resorts at lower prices.

Located on Bang Bao beach - partial rocky beach, crystal clear, calm & shallow water with white sand (perfect for kids). Clean rooms, well maintained garden & well decorated resort Staffs are amazing. Starting from Khun Sompong, Khun Kaew, Khun Aom, Khun Rath, Khun Note...I mean "everyone". They are so friendly, helpful, informative, enthusiastic and always available to be at your services. They love what they're doing, their attitudes are positive and we can feel that they're happy to have us there Cute kids'corner and lots of nice spots for photo-taking Good quality & delicious food We're very impressed and happy with our stay, definitely going back there. Absolutely recommended!

Siam Hut is located right on the beach of beautiful Bang Bao Bay! While the freestanding bungalows are basic (still includes fan, hot water, mosquito net, plus breakfast), the ocean views don't disappoint. Management was friendly and helpful - even checking in with us to be sure we had our return trip reserved. I think this property is the best value for your money in Koh Kood and I will definitely stay here again.

Really you need all the hotels on bang Bao to become one. Rent a scooter from Siam hut as they are almost fifty percent cheaper, eat at the beach natural as it has better food, sleep and swim at to the sea, then go for a drink at the deck bar at koh kood resort. Each one is lacking stuff on its own. To the sea staff are friendly but could do with more training, the bar has the atmosphere of a supermarket sadly and the pool, though lovely, was filled by nine leaping and shrieking kids under 10 years old each day...the rooms though are good and the staff very warm.

What a place! A bit like fawlty towers in some respects? Fantastic beach with a tikki bar at the far end and some of the cleanest and crystal clear sea water you'll likely to find anywhere. The accomodation was probably state of the art in 1970 but has fallen in to disrepair and needs some investment, on the other hand it has a certain charm? Good breakfast options. great wild life, lizards and ants etc and beware of the coconuts. would stay again at the drop of a hat.

The staff is amazing and make sure you really can enjoy your holiday. The resort is green, the bungalows all got seaview and are situated in a very nice garden with lots of flowers and palmtrees. The bungalow are of a reasonable size with an nice outside bathroom. It was very clean. The food in the restaurant was really good and again the service is great. Breakfast is same everywhere... pancakes, muesli with yoghurt, fruitmix, eggs etc. nothing special. Only thing missing is a swimming pool. You need a motorbike to explore the area. A guy named Jojo is super friendly and will help you out with the motorbike rentals. The other staff including Bang and his wife are so lovely. They are all very good with children. There is not really a village on Koh Kood but the little supermarkets and restaurant are divided over the Island. The beach is just perfect! Very good for snorkling. It very shallow, so good for little kids to play in. You will enjoy your stay at Dusita for sure!

Mr. Jay is an extraordinary individual who provided my gf and I one of the most memorable vacations of our life. The Room was emmaculate and very spacious. The attention to detail was something to really marvel. The bed is so comfortable and as a bonus you can purchase the sheets and pillows to bring back to your home (which we did)! As this hotel is in the beginning stages Jay pays extra attention to everything in order to make the guest feel special. This is my 5th time on Koh Kood and by far the most comfortable of my stays. Don't hesitate and book with Mr. Jay. You will be happy you did. Enjoy Koh Kood (paradise on earth)

The location is pretty great and the views are really beautiful. Not only the bungalow itself was cute, but the view outside was amazing as well, even though we were staying there during the low season. The staff was friendly, but only a couple of them spoke English (and one of them was a French guy, who said he was about to start a business of his own, so I guess he's not going to be there for long). There's a cheap motorbike rental at their place and they even gave us back half of our money, because we were only out for a few hours, instead of the whole day due to an accident. The beach has a lot of rocks on it and the waves are rather large and strong. Bang Bao bay is better for people who want calm waters. The bungalow is really dirty. The drainage hole in the shower has become stuck because of some growth, so there was a second one, which also had some growth coming out of it. It also was the entry point of mice into our bungalow. The host said that we attracted mice because we had food in our room (we had a bag of cashew nuts). But the mice came before we bought our nuts and actually stole our soap. We found the soap underneath the sink, along with another - older - soap, both of which were half eaten. This means that the mice were regular visitors even before we came. There is also some life living in the ceiling (we first thought it might be the lizards, but those guys never hide from people, and we never saw anything). It would not really be a problem, but they poop a lot and if you leave anything on the floor, it will likely get pooped on. We believe the net around the bed was there to protect us from the projectile poop, rather than insects. But, according to the hosts, this is normal, as the jungle is nearby. They have us a cage to catch the mice and we did (we caught two). The food in their restaurant is pretty good and the cocktails are as well, although they are a bit stronger than their counterparts in Europe.

I love everything about this place. The room was spacious, with balcony and all. The food was absolutely amazing. The location, well that's a bit tricky because it's like 15 minutes walk to the nearest beach, but then I learnt soon enough that everything in Koh Kood is kind of spreading out and remote from one another anyway, so that's not a problem at all. Then the best part is P'La and P'Thalay, the owners of this place. Knowing I was there by myself without a sufficient capability to ride a motorbike, they told me to hop on to the back of the bike and send me off to the most beautiful locations not too far off. The best sunsets I've seen in a long while :) This place is the best. 10/10 would recommend.

Eve's house was a very nice stay! The bungalows were very sweet, the mosquito net did a good job! The scooters cost 250 Baht per day, which is cheaper than in most other places! And the scooters were very good, the best we had yet in Thailand. If I ever went to Koh kood again, I would definitely stay here. The beach is only 3-4 minutes away with the scooter, I'd recommend the beach from the neverland resort, it was very clean and looked a lot like in the Caribbean! It's only a few minutes away too! Thank you for the fantastic stay.

The hut was a perfect location only 1 mintute to closest beach and a fantastic resuratant across the road (best on the island) it Also catered well for vegitarian/vegan. To get to one of the best beaches I have ever been to in my life is a 10/15 minute walk. You can hire bikes for 5 pound a day making exploring the island easy and cheap. So much to do.. cannoing. Waterfalls. Trecking. Relaxing. The only down side of this accommodation was the bed. It was very hard although I slept pretty good. Air conditioning works well and the bathroom is good. Wan is a fantastic host lovely guy and will organise anything you need from bikes to ferry tickets. Overall a fantastic 6 nights stay. I would stay again.

This is my second year in a row staying at Baan Suaan Homestay. Miss Pring, the owner and hostess is a lovely Thai woman who speaks good English, and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The coffee shop is where you have the included breakfast, and Miss Pring makes it custom for you. This is what makes Baan Suaan so special, that you can have whatever you like- and having a gluten and sugar free diet is not always easy in Thailand, but here it is possible! there is also a real espresso machine and Pring prides herself on her artistic coffee creations! This is a family run business, with Pring's mom handling the shop that sells everything from beer to flipflops, and there is a water bottling factory on property, which means there is an unlimited supply of chilled water and clean glasses in the community fridge. The homestay is in a traditional Thai house made of brick and wood, and the rooms are cooled by fans and sliding glass doors that open onto balconies. The showers are unheated, but for me it is not a problem, and in the middle of the day the water can even be warm. It is very quiet and relaxing for napping in the heat of the midday. The rooms are cleaned every third day, but if you need fresh towels you can get them anytime. The location is ideal, within walking distance to Bang Bao Bay, where there is a massage hut on the beach, BBQs at night, snorkel equipment rental, and dive boats also leave from this point. Miss Pring can rent you a motor scooter at a competitive price, and there is a place right across the street which will wash/fold your laundry. Don't miss the waterfalls on Koh Kood, and the snorkelling is very good to the left side of the beach by Analay. I have stayed at 3 other resorts on the island and i feel that this is the best value for this price point - excellent WiFi in public areas too! ; )
