Great place to stay in Berlin”

This hotel was a great place to stay during our 5-day visit to Berlin. It is in the neighborhood of Friedrichshain, in my opinion one of the coolest and most interesting neighborhoods in the city. The hotel is very conveniently located only about a 5-minute walk from the Frankfurter Tor U-Bahn station. It's very easy to find following the directions on the hotel's web site. Only a two-block walk. The night life in the area is great and there is plenty to do day or night. The breakfast at the hotel is one of the best of any hotel I have ever stayed. Be sure breakfast is included in the price of your room because it's expensive otherwise. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and will do everything they can to make your stay very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again if ever in Berlin.

good hotel in an improving area of town”

The hotel is located close to the busiest street of Friedrichshain with lots of restaurants and bars close by. Also two major U-bahn / S-bahn stations in walking distance that will bring you to the major tourist locations of the city in minutes. The price for the room is relatively low, for Berlin that is. The staff is very friendly and there is a secured parking space available.

Ignore the bad quality pictures!”

Very nice place, do not decide whether or not to stay solely on the pictures - they are of quite bad quality. The hotel is quite nice (not extremely modern furnished, but quite luxurious.) The breakfast is big, the staff is very polite and helpful. Very professional. We were upgraded without to the 'apartment' free of charge, which was very nice. Big room with a fridge and kitchen. BONUS INFO: A really cool replica of the bar MacLaren's from How I Met Your Mother is neighbor to the hotel, and for people who likes the series, it is pretty funny to live right beside the bar. (The main character, , lives right above it in the series)

Comfortable and cheap stay in Friedrichshain.”

Had a very pleasant stay here during a 4 day visit in Berlin. At a good price you get friendly service, comfortable clean rooms, a nice breakfast buffet and an excellent location in Friedrischan. Close to several bars and restaurants in the are and just a few minute walk to the nearest subway station. Highly recommended and I'd be happy stay here for my next visit to Berlin.

Very clean, gorgeous breakfast, near cafes”

My boyfriend and I loved this hotel!! We stayed for three nights. It was lovely - very clean and we had a big room. The shower was hot and powerful, but unfortunately there was not a bath. We really loved the breakfast buffet - it was varied, with lots of healthy options. There was interesting street art on the surrounding streets and quirky cafes. We hired bikes from the hotel for 10 Euros a day (this seemed to be the standard charge). The staff were helpful, friendly and spoke English. They let us store our bags when we arrived before check in and gave us a free map when we arrived too. The hotel is near to a few shops (although we didn't have time to visit any) and the flea market. It is about 5 mins walk to the underground station. I was worried from the pics that the hotel might be a bit tired - but I don't think the pictures don't do it justice! It was great! I would happily stay there again.

Good hotel, but major renovation in the opposite building”

Location is perfect for eat and drink in trendy area Friedrichshain. The room was large and clean but not have aircon, but small fan. The reason I stayed 1 night only, because there was a major renovation in the opposite building. It was not mentioned during reservation or checkin. I change to another hotel

Good option if you want to stay in Friedrichshain, but not very convenient if you want to explore the city from here

No frills but great hotel!!!”

We were here over night and I only spent approximately 4 hours including sleep but despite this the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. It took around 40 minutes from the airport on public transport and is only a couple of minutes from the nearest U-bahn Station (Frankfurter Tor) The hotel is quite modest so don't expect too much. I've recently come back from America so I've been quite spoilt (hence the 3 star VFM). Did not have the breakfast so I can't report on that, but it was 9 euros if you booked it the night before and 12 euros on the day which is a strange way to do business but hey!!!! Hope this helps someone.

Hotel Zarenhoff is in a great location! The room was nice, clean, very comfortable and staff were nice. Also well priced. We had a great stay.

Very good”

Hotel is OK - clean and my room was very quiet. Staff was professional and helpful. I had breakfast only one morning and it was very good. What I missed the most was the possibility to make my own coffee or tea in a room. Simple machine, or even just electric kettle will be better than nothing. You also better bring your own hair conditioner, if you need one (small thing, but if you arrive on Sunday - stores are closed and you cannot buy one). I was there in the end of October, but I cannot imagine staying there during warm/hot weather (no air-conditioning). Area of the hotel is very nice, lots of small restaurants, bars, stores.

Nice Clean Hotel, Friendly staff, Bad intrnet”

Pros: - Good value for money - Closer to transport - Super clean rooms and bed was comfortable. - Back side room was really quiet which is nice for light sleepers. Cons: - Poor to non existant wifi - No kettle for tea/coffee. No fridge for drinks or storing food. But staff offred to keep my stuff in their kitchen fridge.

Lovely hotel in a great location ”

Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room well equipped and spotless. Ideal location for bars, restaurants and sight seeing. Can’t fault it. Will definitely stay again.
