This is not just a hotel. Moonstone is the place of fantastic atmosphere: relaxation, true international friendship and great mood. For me, Moostone is associated with my best days on Koh Phangan. I come back here almost every year. Here I found new friends, the owner of the hotel Stephane and his wife Joy. Many guests come to the hotel from year to year and for a long period, it's nice to see the same happy faces every time. Great price-quality ratio, so Moonstone is one of the best hotel on Koh Phangan, and also all of Thailand. I have something to compare with, because I have been to dozens of different hotels on many islands and parts of Thailand, very different price categories (including 5 * hotels). Для меня Moostone ассоциируется с моими лучшими днями на Пангане. Сюда я возвращаюсь практически каждый год. Здесь у меня появились новые друзья, в лице хозяина отеля Стефана и его супруги Джой. Многие гости приезжают в отель из года в год и на долгий период - приятно видеть каждый раз одних и тех же довольных постояльцев. С учетом невероятно приятной цены проживания - это один из лучших вариантов размещения на Пангане, да и в Таиланде в целом. Beautiful Intimate Stay”
I had travelled to Haad Rin for the first full moon party post covid with two fellow travellers (aged 25-35). Moonstone was an incredible place to have this experience from. As a female in a room by myself I felt incredibly safe. Stefan and Joy who own the property are on hand for all your needs; scooter rental, laundry, drinks and good conversation. The property only has ten rooms making for a very intimate stay, all rooms have a beautiful view and most overlook the sea or both pool and sea - this was certainly a stay where I didn't feel guilty to lounge by the pool. Moonstone is also an excellent location to explore North and South, I did not feel as though I was missing out not staying in central Haad Rin. I am already missing my balcony where I finally enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine from the local supermarket! A big shout out to Stefan and Joy for also escorting us to the full moon and giving us all the help and advice we needed.

Quiet, clean, aircon, tv, pool, bar. What else do you need? Suitable for solo travellers, couples and families as the kids have a swimming pool. Haad Rin is 5 mins away. Baan Thai and Thong Sala are not too far away either. 5/5 for value

Everything was awesome as always. The big studio apartment was clean and tidy. The bathroom was very clean and warm water was available all the time. The bedroom has a nice comfortable bed and the living room has everything you need. The view is as beautiful as always. Everything was working fine. Everybody was friendly and kind as always and it made my stay here amazing again. I accidentally booked not the big studio apartment as intended and, the owner, Stephane contacted me through agoda and gave me an upgrade to the big studio apartment free of charge. I love to stay at Moonstone and I can fully recommend staying here! I will be back for sure.

beautiful view and really great rooms, next to the beach. The room has a big and comfy bed and a TV with many viewing options. its far from the main hadrin beach. the hotel is on the hills so really big slop you need to do every time you come or go, so take it in consideration. the stuff is really nice and helpful with ordering taxi or renting bike. there is no restaurant in the hotel but have a few places next to it with good food. really recommends this beauty and peaceful place for people who wants to be away from the busy parts.

The Hotel is really ok, but sureley not outstanding and the high rating in my opinion a bit too high. Everything ok, but a bit outside, the clothest beach a not that nice, but of course not so far away to the village and the nice beach. The staff is nice and helpful, the small pool is nice, no closets in the room was not a problem for the 2 nights, but would be fine for a longer stay.

Yes we are located in a quiet area 2 minutes walk from Sunset Beach and 12 minutes walk from Fullmoon Beach. Also we have closet with hangers in every rooms where the safety box is located . How could you not see it?

Thanks for your nice review. Just to clarify, we have brand new mattresses in most of our rooms, some people prefer hard or soft mattress so we decided to own some medium firm latex mattresses. For our water pressure, it is at 60psi which is standart pressure, you might have a bit less if many people shower at the same time. It is about a 20 minute walk to the party town of Haad Rin. Location wise, you MUST have a motorbike to stay here. Otherwise.....well...good luck walking all the way to Haad Rin town and in the dark, quiet area surrounding Moonstone Studio. In order to get to the 7-11 too, it was quite scary at night for a solo traveler. Definitely need a motorbike. The studio apartments are up the hill. Other than that, the apartments are absolutely fantastic, absolutely SPACIOUS and CLEAN for Haad Rin. You can go to the party side of Haad Rin by motorbike or take a taxi, and can sleep without worrying about the loud, booming noises of Haad Rin party central town. It is quiet, view is gorgeous, have a nice living room area and separate bedroom area, and a spacious bathroom area. There were no ants or bugs crawling around which was great. The owner Stephane is very attentive as well. Very nice guy. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to go party at Haad Rin town, but also wanting to sleep at a quiet area of Haad Rin as well. I will have to tell you...if you stay right at Haad Rin party central town...everyday it will be hard to sleep with the club music banging so loud!

A friend of ours recommended us this place and we were extremely pleased of following these advise. Long-time user of Agoda, I have never been so pleased. Moonstone Studio is such a beautiful place to enjoy your stay in Koh Phangan. Spacious and clean studio apartment with all the equipment and high comfort needed with superb sea view. In addition, the friendly owner Stephan and his wife will make sure you enjoy your stay on the island, whether it is to attend the full moon parties or other quiet places of interests in the island. In conclusion, if you plan to stay in or nearby Haad Rin, you do not need to look elsewhere else. This is without any doubt the perfect choice. I give them 5 stars.

We stayed at Moonstone 3 nights and added 2 more nights beacuse we liked it so much. You get a great value for the money you spend on the room. The owner and personal is really nice and helpful. You have a great view towards the sea both from your room and the pool area. 5 minute walk to the beach near the hotel and a 10 minute walk to Haad rin beach where the full moon party is. We are satisfied with everything about Moonstone and would most likely stay here again on another visit to Koh Phangan!

I have stayed on Koh Phangan many times, and this place is my new favorite. We rented the big studio apartment, and were more than impressed. The apartment is big, with good wifi, great views, and is quiet. The microwave,satellite TV and walk in shower were just icing on the cake. Anyone looking for a great place to stay should stay at Moonstone. A definite gem in the Haad Rin area.

Had a lot of fun at Moonstone Studio”
I stayed here three nights in late November 2016 with my girlfriend. The manager Stephane was fantastic and super accommodating. He promptly responded to our messages and helped us book scooters, order food, and gave us recommendations on travel companies. He unfortunately wasn't around much during our stay due to a family emergency, but Toffee was great and super helpful as well. One of them was always around and they were always asking if everything was going well or if there was anything we needed. A few things that we noticed was that there were a few groups there who came back year after year so it shows that Moonstone likes to cultivate relationships and get to know their guests. Also, it seemed like everywhere we went on the island, people knew Stephane and Moonstone so they were more than willing to help us out. The studio apartment was nice and our room worked well for what we needed. The bed was a little hard but it wasn't any different from any of the other beds we found in Thailand. The pool area was great and was a nice place to relax, have a beer, hang out with the other guests, and swim. The rooftop deck wasn't finished but it will be a great spot to hang out once it is complete. Moonstone is less than a 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurant or the closest beach (Sunset beach is close but there isn't much to it), about a 10 minute walk to 7-11 and about a 15-20 minute walk to Haad Rin (Full Moon party area). I would definitely suggest renting a scooter because they are very affordable and makes getting around the island so much easier. We stayed during the off season so it was very quite at Moonstone and on the Island but we still had a lot of fun. I would definitely suggest Moonstone if you are visiting. They will go the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay.

Moonstone studio was a great little spot in Haad Rin. Our room had an amazing view, it was a great price and the walk to Haad Rin beach wasn’t too bad. It was a pretty steep hill to walk up to the villas, but well worth it for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful to tell us where to go and how to get there.

Great Location and Value”
We stayed at the Moonstone Studio for one night whilst we visited Haad Rin. Upon arriving the owner met us at the entrance and led us up to our room. We had a great view of the sea and the room was clean. The owner arranged for our moped hire... good value, quick and no chance of being ripped off/scammed by the shops around the beach. Great value for money and superb location for going to either of Haad Rin's beaches. Highly recommended.
