    “Beyond brilliant!”

    Wowee, what a brilliant hotel resort. Right in the middle of Ubud with restaurants, shops, monkey forest and Ubud Art Market at your front door. In saying this, the hotel is sooo peaceful and quiet as rooms are set at back of the grounds. Two gorgeous swimming pools complete with pool bar, luxe towels and your own sunscreen bar beside each set of super comfortable deck chairs. The rooms are totally divine. Large with beautiful amenities, open air bath, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar with daily stocked soft drink and 4 bottles of water included in your fare. The onsite restaurant, The Braiserie was so lovely with relaxing live music the food superb. I’m not into yoga but a fellow traveller told me their is a beautiful yoga studio next door and costs her $10 a day for unlimited classes and she said it is one of the best she has been too. The grounds are immaculate, greenery, plants, little rice field areas, 2 Japanese restaurants and tea house. Final score is 10/10, cannot fault this stunning resort, staff go above and beyond. Already making plans to return soon!

    “Nice customer service ”

    Actually I booked Alaya Resport Ubud but I was transferred to Alaya Suites upon arrival upgrade to a suite room because the room we booked was doing maintenance. The resort has a big compound with a few restaurants and award winning Dala Spa. I don’t stay in Alaya Resort so I am not sure with the cleanliness but I can use the facilities over there. I want to say more about Alaya Suites where I stayed for five days, so five star review meant for Alaya Suites. It has excellent customer service, the rooms are clean twice a day and their Ala carte menu is superb, which is made to order and taste so good. The dinner menu is small but all the dishes are divine, cooked to a perfect perfection by a passionate chef. I can’t eat in other place after I am having a food in Carbon restaurant from Alaya Suites. We are so satisfied! Thank you so much Alaya resort and Alaya suites!

    “Outstanding!!”

    This hotel is stunning with the warmest and friendliest staff! Thank you to all the staff, especially Ema (for taking us on an introdutoon tour), Kisna (for the brilliant Canang making class) and Novi (for being really helpful through the guest experience whatsapp). Our room was beautiful, quiet and clean with lovely views. Great location for travelling around central Ubud. We managed to walk to the Monkey Forest, Ubud palace, and the Water Temple.     “Excellent location ”

    The location is quite central, near to a few cafes and very assessible to a lot of food options across the road. coco supermarket is just beside. Service was awesome too. For the morning breakfast remb to get the menu to order alacarte cos the self serve buffet food is not as delicious But the alacarte order is amazing. The room is big but I have no idea why they make the toilet so big, it was difficult to add an extra bed for 3 pax but the service was excellent to allow 3 pax to stay in the 2 room hotel. Though I would recommend anyone going on 3 pax to book a king bed

    “Beautiful but Overpriced: Know What You’re Paying For”

    Alaya Resort Ubud has a lot of potential, but your satisfaction will depend on your expectations. It’s not a budget option, so it’s important to understand what you’re paying for. Pros: • Location: Excellent—close to central Ubud, restaurants, and shops, yet surprisingly quiet. • Cleanliness: The rooms and facilities were spotless. • Staff: Professional and responsive to inquiries. • Extras: The resort offers a variety of complimentary activities and guest discounts. Cons: • Design & Accessibility: The resort is beautiful but not ideal for those with mobility issues or large luggage due to stairs and uneven paths. • Room Design: I found the room layout impractical, especially the sink positioned next to the bed. • Lack of Personal Touch: Despite it being my birthday, no staff acknowledged it—not even a simple greeting. It left me feeling that guest care is more transactional than personal. • Room Issues: My room had a strong mould smell, which triggered my asthma. This was serious and disappointing. • Noise Problems: There was a loud event four nights that went on until nearly midnight, without prior notice from the hotel. When I was moved to a different room, it was located near ongoing construction. • Facilities: No separate children’s pool, which may matter to guests seeking a quieter atmosphere. Tips for future guests: Ask in advance about possible construction or events during your stay, and confirm whether room features meet your personal preferences and health needs.

    “Good but need to improve (HONEST REVIEW)”

    I recently stayed at Alaya Resort Ubud, a proud 5-star establishment that generously offers a 2.5-star emotional experience, depending on your appearance. At first glance, everything looks the part: beautiful ambiance, polished lobby, the kind of aesthetic that whispers “luxury” while your wallet softly cries. The staff? Impeccably trained… in selective hospitality. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted with the signature expression that says, “Ah, the driver has arrived.” Plot twist: I was the guest. As an Indonesian, I apparently blended too well with the parking area. After a brief moment of existential confusion (theirs, not mine), attitudes shifted from “Please wait outside” to “Welcome to paradise.” Impressive flexibility. What truly amazed me was the resort’s cultural anthropology experiment. Foreign guests received sparkling smiles, extra enthusiasm, and the full National Geographic documentary treatment. Meanwhile, Indonesians, or those who look Indonesian, were given the minimalist service package. Efficient. Economical. Character-building. To be fair, once the misunderstanding dissolved and it became clear I was not there to pick someone up, the staff became perfectly polite and helpful. So yes, they can deliver 5-star service; it just requires a short casting process first. The property itself is lovely, and the team has the potential to be excellent. Hopefully, management will eventually upgrade from “appearance-based assumptions” to “equal hospitality for all guests.” That would truly make the 5 stars shine as brightly as advertised. Until then, I recommend arriving with confidence, luggage, and perhaps a visible booking confirmation, just to speed things up.

    “Location, location location!!!”

    The hotels beautiful. The rooms are large and pretty. The staff are lovely. Have stayed in Ubud a few times before and have always felt a little bit too far out and needed a taxi or a scooter to get anywhere decent to eat or drink at or even just for any nice places or little stores to explore. And to be honest we weren't going to return as we felt like we'd do e Ubud enough times now and didn't feel the need to go back however we changed our mind at the last minute as we had a few nights to spare within our Bali holiday and thought let's try it out 1 more time but be closer to the main area and within walking distance to many cafes and restaurants etc. The location was by far the best thing about Alaya. Everything was right at your doorstep and we had a completely different experience to previous times. The bed was huge and comfy. The shower a d water pressure was 1 of the best showers in a hotel Ive ever stayed at. The only thing we didn't like, was the size of the pool as it is actually really quite small and looked way bigger in the photos. We actually asked if the staff if there was another pool somewhere else cos it really is very small for a pretty large hotel with a pretty large amount of rooms. It was a bit awkward in the pool area. There was no music. At all. It was dead quiet you felt like you had to whisper to each other and the pool staff aren't very attentive at all, it actually felt like you were an inconvenience trying to get their attention and asking them to please order a drink. We hated that part of it. It needs some light music even if it's just some kind of sounding bowls, just something, anything. Thats literally the only thing we didn't like about it but other than that it was a stunning hotel and in prime location and well worth paying a little extra than some other places just for the location alone and being able to walk everywhere rather than spending a bit less on accommodation trying to save a bit of money there but end up spending the money you're saving on accommodation elsewhere and having to spend it anyway on taxis, scooters, inconvenience and wasting valuable holiday time instead. Definitely needs a little speaker around the pool though. It was way too quiet and awkward and cramped. Saying that I'd definitely stay there again though if I was ever to return to Ubud. It really was a beautiful hotel to stay at.

    “Excellent Service”

    We are very pleased with the extraordinary service presented by the Alaya Team. Coming from the hospitality industry myself, I feel warmth welcome and each of the employees here service with a genuine heart. From the time we entered the Resort with help rendered by the staff for our luggages, immediately welcome drinks and towels was provided. Upon check-in the staff who showed us to our room explained the Resort facilities in detail and assist us on luggages. additional amenities was also provided for replenishment. Room is spacious and most importantly it is very clean, rain shower is strong. I particularly find the wooden “DnD & Housekeeping” door hanging knob creative! For daily breakfast, the team actually knew how many times you had breakfast with them, this is thoughtful and introduction to the ala carte menu is well-explained. Special thanks to the young fair lady, Nathalia or Natalia whom approached us during our breakfast and check if everything is fine during our stay. she even go the extra mile to help us arrange our requested room housekeeping timing as we wanted to rest after back from sunrise tour at mt batur. she also chat with us and introduce to us places where we can visit around the area. she portray a very Splendid service and very attentive when engaging with guests. Improvement: Our room was around a 5mins walk from the lobby, with luggages it will be quite difficult to carry up and down 2 levels without the lifts nevertheless it was a great stay and I cant wait to be back! strongly recommend this place to my family and friends.     “Sanctuary in the heart of Ubud”

    Prime location in Ubud with restaurants cafes and shops (and monkey forest) within walking distance, yet with rooms located away from the main street, one could enjoy the serenity of the sprawling property with rice paddy and cobblestone path landscaping. Rooms are clean and spacious, and service excellent. Pool is on the small side, and breakfast offering is fine but not outstanding. Spa is good value for the service. Overall, would highly recommend!

    “top notch service ”

    Staying at alaya was one of the best decisions made! 2 nights were definitely not enough to enjoy the resort cultural activities or explore its surroundings. Pleased to be greeted by every staff when we see each other and the front desk staff will also address by my name. Would like to make special mention of Mr bayu who is very patient and helpful when he picked us up from the airport. He made us feel comfortable even though we were held up for some time.     “Great Hospitality ”

    We went there for our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade and a honeymoon cake — such a thoughtful gesture! The hospitality was truly excellent. The location is great with easy access to nearby attractions. Every staff member greeted us warmly, which made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious as well.     “Best resort”

    “Wonderful Stay at Alaya! ”

    What an amazing hotel Alaya is! Had a wonderful stay, starting with the drive from Canggu - the car arrived and it was spotless, with free biscuits and water! The room itself was gorgeous, spotlessly clean with a huge bathtub and super comfy bed. The balcony also was a lovely touch! Classy room with 5* feel, everything looked new and well cared for. We didn’t get a chance to try all of the restaurants, but the Brasserie for breakfast was lovely and the combination of buffet/a la carte gave maximum choice. The pools were a good temperature and again, spotlessly clean. Service around the pool could be a tad slow at times, but the food and drinks always good when they came. The highlight has to be the spa by far - we booked in for a two hour session during their happy hour for the spa and I genuinely don’t think we will ever beat the experience (or price!). The massage and treatments we got were second to none and it’s the small touches like sweet ginger tea before and after that really make the difference. Special mention must go to Egi at the front desk - we had an issue with our laundry whereby it was supposed to be done in 24 hours, but wouldn’t be ready until after we left. He spent all night fixing the issue and not only did he locate the laundry, but it was all washed and pressed! Thanks so much Egi! This really was one of the loveliest hotels we’ve ever stayed at and I couldn’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for a hotel in Ubud. Try it - you won’t be disappointed!

    “The best resort in Bali”

    They upgded the room with bathtub. Every staffs were saying hello and asking help. There are 2 room cleaning services a day. When you include breakfast you can have buffet and a la carte menu for free as much as you can have. I will defenitely come back in the future.

    “BEST RESORT IN UBUD”

    I've stayed in this hotel twice, and officially become the best resort in ubud for me n my family. I'll stay here again and again. Value for money, staffs are very friendly and helpful, room is spacious and very clean, location is great, u can go to so many popular restaurants by walking, i mean really its just few steps to many restaurants. Yet u still can see the ricefield view by ur balcony, once u enter the room it feels quite, eventhough this resort is in ubud city center. I've tried so many hotels n resorts in ubud, but next time i'm in ubud i will not try another, I will surely comeback to Alaya.

    “Alaya Resort”

    My second time staying here when staying in Ubud for a few days. It’s centrally located and surrounded by a number of good restaurants within walking distance. The staff are not just friendly but also responsive. Check in is easy. The grounds are lovely and I’ve never seen it super crowded. They keep the rooms very clean and they also refresh them in the evening in case you need new towels or water. They also refill a non-alcoholic mini bar every day in your room for free. The breakfast buffet is small and a little repetitive, but definitely worth getting it added for your stay. We enjoy staying here.

    “Peaceful Getaway Right in the Heart of Ubud”

    We had such a lovely stay at Alaya Resort Ubud. As a couple looking for a relaxing break, this place ticked all the boxes. The location is amazing — right in the center of Ubud, walking distance to restaurants, shops, and Monkey Forest. But the moment you step into the hotel, it feels like a completely different world — calm, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The resort itself is huge and really beautiful, with lush greenery, small rice fields, and pools tucked away in peaceful corners. It felt like a little sanctuary away from the busyness outside. Our room was spacious and tastefully designed, with a big comfy bed and pillows that were just right. We especially loved the balcony, perfect for slow mornings or winding down after a day out. One thing to mention — the open-style bathroom and shower, separated only by curtains, made the room feel a bit humid. They do provide a dehumidifier, which helped, but the dampness was still noticeable at times. That said, it didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our stay. The vibe was super relaxing, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience left us feeling recharged.

    “Totally worth it to stay at Alaya ”

    It was a pleasure to stay at Alaya - Staff 10/10 Very attentive staffs! Everyone greets us during our stay and they proactively ask if we need any assistance.     “Best customer service!!”

    PROS: I've been to many 5-star hotels and resorts, and Alaya Resort Ubud definitely stands out. They went above and beyond in a special birthday celebration request for my partner, which just shows how much they care for their customers. Thank you so much. My partner complimented this resort called it 6 Stars, which is huge as she rarely gives compliments. The location is beautiful, the pools are clean and nicely kept. CONS: The food is quite average and limited but okay for buffet style and menu provided which is nice. The gym is very small. When i arrived, the gym also had the view covered which was unfortunate as in the picture it was one of the highlights. The DaLa Spa was amazing in customer service and environment setting however the masseuse technique unfortunately did not match the price.

    “Super friendly staff and clean room”

    The staff Krishna has been super friendly and helpful. She made our stay pleasant. The restaurant staff is also very helpful, the breakfast is a semi buffet serving of quality food in small portion, hence we got to try a good variety of food. The paddy field was just replanted a few days ago hence it didn’t look lush enough but it was ok. We love our stay, it’s within walking distance to monkey forest and further to the Ubud Palace. The hotel comes with few popular restaurants which is a big plus.

    “MODERN TRADITIONAL HOTEL AT THE HEART OF UBUD”

    We had an amazing stay at the Alaya Resort Ubud. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The check-in experience was great! We originally booked their Deluxe room but was upgraded to the Alaya Room. The room was awesome with a very nice and large bath tub that we enjoyed! They have 2 amazing pools at the property which was cleaned every morning. The buffet breakfast at The Brasserie was fantastic! Love that you can get to choose from the buffet or order from their ala carte menu as well. Their spa service - The DaLa Spa, was spectacular! From the traditional decor to the service itself! It was superb!

    It was a very wonderful hotel. The services were very good. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. They always wear smiles. The rooms are unexpectedly tidy and clean. The location is amazing, near the monkey forest, palace and art market. It’s on the city centre actually!

    “We loved it”

    The staff were wonderful. Really exceptional. Our room was very comfortable with extra touches and the pool area beautiful. Free afternoon tea, free soft drinks in the room fridge. My massage in the hotel spa was great value and one of the best I’ve had. We couldn’t recommend Alaya more.

    “Excellent location”

    We decided to stay here because of the central location. Whilst the staff were amazing and went above and beyond, the room itself was plagued with problems, from only lukewarm water coming from the showers (in all 3 rooms it was the same) to our air conditioner spewing out cascades of water during the middle out the night. My sisters rooms the shower stopped working. Our room key suddenly stopped working. The walk from the Rooms is quite far as well. The most disappointed part was the buffet breakfast. I know sure what they were doing to the coffee but it just wasn’t right, even my iced coffee wasn’t good. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay here again. On a position note I must commend the staff, they truly are amazing and all of them were fabulous at their jobs.

    “Just one night”

    Only stopped for one night, just a long walk to our room so when on business, very hard after a long day walking already. Room had mustly mouldy smell. And fully open bathroom, which I didn't realise as the images I saw only had the bed in it. Not a major, just an observation. Pool closes at 7, again, after long hot day we had 5 minutes left to jump in. Excellent location right by Monkey Forest area and lots of food options around.

    “An oasis of peace in the middle of bustling Ubud”

    Honestly this place was amazing. The room was large with lots of storage space and there was even a wide balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area, with a table and a daybed for lounging. If I had one complaint, it would be that the bathroom setup was a little weird because they only have a curtain separating the room from the shower and toilet, but we got used to it after the first day. Make sure you and your roommate are close because you will hear everything! They have shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and handwash in pump bottles and they smelled so heavenly, they also offer them on sale in the shop. Staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful, especially when one of us got the dreaded Bali Belly, helping us get a doctor and giving us extra water and other amenities. They checked in with us frequently as well to make sure everything was okay, even offered to bring us congee and bananas from their kitchen. Breakfast was great, it's a full breakfast buffet with lots of options both Western and Asian. They also give welcome drinks upon check-in and offer a complementary afternoon tea from 3-5pm with coffee or tea and some simple Balinese cakes. They have two pools in the premises, not particularly big (the pics make them seem bigger) but big enough for everyone. Landscaping was gorgeous. There was also a small tea room and a spa but we didn't get to explore. Definitely allocate at least half a day exploring and enjoying the resort. Location was very central, few steps away from lots of restaurants and shops, Coco Supermarket, and the Monkey Sanctuary so everything was super convenient as well. Overall, we LOVED this place and will definitely stay here again next time, maybe for longer! Price was completely worth it for the quality of amenities and service.

    “Beautiful hotel and spa, great staff”

    This was such a wonderful getaway, the resort is very conveniently located near great cafes (e.g., Pison, Suka Espresso, The Sandwich Bar, Tukies) and Yoga Barn. We didn't have the hotel breakfast as there were so many great cafe options. Hotel premises and the Alaya Room was spacious and beautiful, with excellent service (room was cleaned with turnout service twice a day) and room service meals. We were in the new wing on a high floor and had a lovely view of rice fields. Quiet except for the sounds of nature, and allowed for very restful sleep. The spa was incredible, it was so serene with great masseuses. We went three times during our stay! Overall, staff were friendly, warm, and accomodating. Highly recommended.

    “Clean modern hotel in a gorgeous setting in the middle of Ubud”

    Booked a last minute for one night after stumbling on this beautiful hotel in the center of Ubud. It is set back from the road in rice fields with beautiful restaurants, pools, lighting, pools, etc. The room was spacious and super clean with a private terrace and massive bathtub, and staff were pleasant. (Tip: you can book your own taxi at half price on the street rather than using the hotel service). Yoga Barn is close by for any yogis, connected through a pedestrian walkway just south of the hotel. My only disappointment was that I really wanted to dine at one of their lovely restaurants that evening but the music didn’t match the sophisticated decor to my taste - so we went out elsewhere. The morning vibe was more cozy and chill - maybe it was just the Friday night scene. Overall a stunning value, would stay again.

    “Fantastic locations ”

    This is a great hotel that is located around a 1km walk from the centre Ubud. With lots of shops, restaurants and cafes close by. It is also a short walk to the Monkey forest. The rooms, admittedly have an unusual layout they are comfortable and well equipped. By far, the best asset the hotel has is it's staff and management, who run a very customer orientated business. The offerings at breakfast were very good and staff attentive but by far the bonus here was having real espresso coffee prepared by a barista instead of a coffee pot. Beautifully set around a rice field there is a wonderful tranquillity to be experienced.

    “Brilliant property”

    The resort is a dream for people who would love some calm and proximity to the main area. The location is brilliant and the rooms are excellent. We got upgraded and loved it. The food is amazing, staff are courteous and the property is five stars. Facilities like the yoga classes, drink making etc are very time specific which I found could have been improved. Other than that the breakfast was the highlight, especially the French toast . We would definitely come back to this property in the future.

    “Central Location”

    We enjoyed our stay at Ayala Resort Ubud. Right outside the hotel is a busy shopping street with a lot of restaurants, convenience stores and other establishments. But once you go inside the hotel, it's really quiet and the scenery is beautiful. A must-visit within the property is Chontea, a Japanese tea house offering matcha tasting and small bites. Another is Rayjin Japanese restaurant that had really yummy food. The room is spacious, clean and complete. The staff were all courteous and polite.

    great location in ubud, nearby to many different places. staff were helpful, moving luggage and communicate well in whatsapp. One thing don’t recommend is the breakfast. it’s not as good as nearby places like Pison next door. Just save your money, don’t buy the breakfast package, and go next door.

    Just 1 disappointment. The hotel has no lift. Not suitable for older people who have difficulties climbing the stairs. Other than that, the hotel is awesome! Besides Pison coffee, you can try Gelato and many things. The view rice field are superb! Great breakfast too. Very convenient and the staff are very helpful.
