Where to stay in Gampaha District
Gampaha District hotels & accommodations

Hotel is good, food is OK. Coctails good. Enought sunbeds and towels. Drinking water they leave in the room or sell during meals is bad and taste like plastic. Newly renovated rooms are good, confortable. Best is the AC, because not blowing straight to the bed, that is common in Sri Lanka. Also thick blankets was super. Enjoied finally chilly night sleeps. Beach is ...

This hotel was the best way to end our trip. My boyfriend and I wanted somewhere to stay that was close to the airport near Colombo, but quiet and away from everything. And this was the perfect fit. The room was clean, with cable television, comfortable beds, small nice and clean bathroom. It was perfect. The hotel's breakfast had plenty of options, but the best thing ...

We booked this hotel in agoda.com and the website made a mistake since it stated that we would have a room with a lagoon view, but instead we were given a pool view upon check in. Upon showing proof we were promised a lagoon view by agoda, they upgraded us to a suite. All thanks to the manager in charge that evening, who also happened to be the IT guy. He definitely h...

We stayed @ Grandeza Hotel for one night and it was one of the best hotel experience in Sri Lanka. The whole crew was friendly and had a warm welcome. We went 1 hr before the usual check in time, but we were provided with the room quickly. The room was quite large and clean as well. And the view of lagoon from the room was marvellous. The food at Sea food restaurant wa...

Highly enjoyable stay thank you to the excellent accommodation, kind and helpful staff, clean pool and garden terrace, pool terrace breakfast, roof terrace dinning, access to the beach, privacy, safety, central location in Negombo beach. It is probably one of the best hotels in Negombo and the price is not so much higher than the nearby three stars hotels as the qualit...

Heritance is by far the best hotel in Negombo (in our opinion) The property allows easy access to the beach and has an awesome pool overlooking the beach. Negombo does not have much to do or see except the beautiful beach. It's a good thing therefore that we booked our stay at the Heritance coz it's right there. The staff were helpful and food was good. The mini bar ...

We chose Negombo as its only 15 kns from the airport and we were in Sri Lanka for a short 4 day break. we reached the hotel at 10 pm and the sound of the indian ocean and the size of the rooms and bathrooms got us in really excited. our rooms were in on the ground floor with direct access to the beach. this hotel has a narrow beach which makes it more accessible as com...

We were looking for a safe place for girls and we accidently found this on agoda. No doubts it was absolutely a good find. I could say this hotel is one of the most comfortable and least expensive in town . The room was very spacious with an attached bathroom . It was well equipped with all the aminities of good standard ! Best thing we loved was the outdoor pool w...

Its an amazing hotel, i have stayed alot of times in this one. pool, breakfast, room, amenities, cleanliness is all amazing. the evening scent in the hotel of lemon grass is best ever. breakfast is the best you get in negombo. staff is very friendly and helpful. A must visit :) and Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved this hotel. I had one issue with my room. I paid extra movie for sea view and got a room where the only thing you saw was trees. I asked to be moved and they accommodated me quickly and put me in a beautiful room with a stunning view. The restaurant was cheap and food was delicious. It’s walking distance from other restaurants and the staff was very ...

We stayed here for 3 days when in Negombo. This is one of the best places to stay in Negombo and the service is exceptionally good. Frank, Tashan and Sima are so good in hosting the guests. They made us feel very comfortable and took care of every small detail. we would stay here again without a second thought for our next visit. 👍🏼

I only stayed here for one night for easy access to the airport in Negombo the next day. It was my last hotel, following an 18 day tour of Sri Lanka. Ranweli is a nice beach front hotel on a private small island where you need to take a short boat-shuttle (30 seconds to cross)..from the mainland to the island. The boat ride is a charming way to arrive at the hotel. Sta...

i had a great 7 -days stay at the Olanro Hotel,it is a newly buildt property in a contemporary modern design and a large swimming pool.the rooms are basic but niceley furnished and very clean.the bathroom is equipt with rainforest shower, hairdryer and toiletries.the restaurant downstairs offers a broad choice of western and sri lankan cuisine, all very tasty and it was ...

It was one of the best weekends for me and my girlfriend the days we stayed at the Golden Star Beach Hotel. Value for money is at its best and I would surely recommend the Hotel for Foreigners as well as the Locals. The location is central and plenty of leisure activities are there to enjoy. One point I must highlight is the 'staff' that are really helpful and provide ...

We had a wonderful stay at Blue Water Boutique for our last night in Sri Lanka. We had a late flight the following day but the hotel staff were kind enough to allow us to use the pool all day and even use a spare shower before our flight. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, and had the best sound proofing of any hotel we stayed at while in the country. The d...

I wish I could give the Cove Beach Villa a 5-star rating, but to get that would require a service level that matches those of 5-star international hotels, and CBV doesn't offer that. Don't get me wrong...the staff is very friendly, but you do get the sense that they're not trained in hotel service. A request for help in making a taxi booking for a 2am airport transfe...

The rooms are not soundproof, so that 1 night we couldn't sleep. Specifically room 13 & 14 on each floor are more noisy as these are situated in front of stairs and lift. Otherwise everything good. Need to change toilet decorations, its really so congested and very old designed. Restaurant is awesome with delicious foods. Thanks team Paradise beach hotel for everythin...

The staff is very friendly but not intrusive. Location is great with regard to the airport but a little bit away from the negombo center. However the beach is nearby as well as a few restaurants. The pool is clean and big enough to relax after or before your journey. We enjoyed our tasteful dinner at the hotel which has a nice rooftop terrace. All in all great boutiq...

We stayed here for one night as an overnight stop before flying home. It's only a 15-20 minute drive early morning to the airport. The room was huge, two very large doubles but had no fridge, kettle or safe. It was a dry day so the bars were, in reality, shut. It was very quiet. It's located right on the beach which was wide and long and had no atmosphere. There was a ...

After 4 weeks of cheap guesthouses, we decided to stay somewhere nice and convenient to the airport. The hotel is very new and modern (not much character) and has everything you need. Very big comfortable bed, working wifi throughout. We booked a deluxe without ocean view for less than $30 per night, we had an ocean view anyway so we may have been upgraded. The bed was...

I wish we could have stayed longer but we were only looking for a hotel for our first night in the country. On arrival at the airport, as promised they were waiting there with a sign with our name on it. Then they efficiently called up the driver and had us back at the hotel in 20 minutes. Given the midnight arrival, it was amazing service. Breakfast in the morning...

Unbelievably delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, best food we had in 3 week trip; Really polished, stylish, modern room, excellent bed, wonderful interior design, bathroom top notch; nice balcony, but limited view; staff are really warm, welcoming, helpful. We were disappointed with some other hotels around Sri Lanka, but this place was really perfect. About 15 min free ta...

This charming hotel has the best beachfront and street position in Negombo and is only a short tuktuk or taxi ride from the airport. Ideal for a short stay on arrival or before departure. There are good bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. The view out to sea is unobstructed and this whole magnificent length of beach is pretty clean and uncluttered....
Cheap places to stay in Gampaha District

A great location, just off the Negombo Beach Road means its a quiet location. We had a room at the back with a small balcony, which was good for drying clothes. Big bathroom and probably the best mosquito net in Sri Lanka. Very friendly family, warm, welcoming and extremely genuine. On our morning in Sri Lanka they didn't disappoint with a superb Sri Lankan break fast...

This is a very nice place in a quiet neighborhood in Negombo which is a town outside of Colombo (an hour away from Colombo Fort on the bus). If you wanna use public transport to get to the hotel or away from the hotel to the city center take the 240 bus. Tuk tuk ride from the airport would be LKR350 to LKR1000 depending on your negotiation skills. Good internet access,...

This place is ideal for anyone who needs a place to stay before or after the airport, as it is several minutes away by taxi. It is also right next to the bus station, so after a good night's rest you can be on your way to any location in the country. The host speaks very good English, and makes every effort to make your stay comfortable, as well as providing tips on ...

We stayed one night at Barracuda. The rooms are very small, but with fantastic new bathrooms and comfy beds. The undercover area where breakfast is served is great for sitting around chatting and you have use of the kitchen. Breakfast was simple, but fine to start the day. We moved the next day because the rooms are fan only and it was very hot in Negombo when we were ...

The hosts at Randi Homestay were really friendly, helpful. At the time of stay, the guest house was a bit of a job site, with the extension/creation of two second-floor porches (coming off those small ones shown in the Agoda photograph). Word is that work will be finished in a couple weeks (in May), at which point guests will have a lot more outside space, and a much b...

I really enjoyed staying at the Airport Hostel. They arranged an airport transfer for me in the middle of the night, and were awake are ready to greet me at that early hour. I felt like I was a personal guest, not just another low budget dormitory guest. The staff were really attentive and helpful, and helped me to figure out local transport and to set up my onward ...

Firstly, Mr. Denis, the owner, is one of the most helpful and friendly person that I've ever met in Sri Lanka (believe me, we were there 3 months and some of our experiences weren't nice). He's given us a very good advice where to go, what to see, what to avoid. He speaks very good English (his wife is an English teacher ). He's stored our luggage for a three months, t...

We've arrived at the La Grande after 2 hours Tuk-tuk from Colombo train station. Extremely tired and hungry then, the host is very thoughtfully to give us some iced juice to recover our energy. Besides, he's recommendation restaurant is nice, seafood is excellent with cheap price, and the place just next door of the hotel. The room is clean and tidy, room rate is reason...

It was a comfortable ,relaxing and with a nice atmosphere place..You can organize your transfer to the airport (we used a tuk-tuk) at any time. It is situated really close to the airport and it's very cheap to get there. The staff helped us organize our transfer so we were sure that the tuk-tuk driver would be there on time.It has a spacious kitchen bench and small co...

My husband and I stayed here at three times during our time in Sri Lanka. Right away we felt like we were home. The rooms are big and clean and quiet (it's not right on the road so the traffic sound is minimal). There are great restaurants from fancy to local spots right outside in the road, places to buy tea, fresh juices, souvenirs, and daily staples like water and s...

Booking was easy, and management made great personal contact before we arrived to ensure everything was in place. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We were provided with delicious meals at whatever time we requested them, and transport was arranged back to the airport. We will definitely stay there again!

I arrived and the place has no sign, I think it's still new. I had booked a female dorm. The owner tried to put me in a 4 bedroom dorm with 3 guys. When I told her I had booked a female dorm she brought me to an empty dorm with about 8 beds. I guess she sleeps in one of the rooms if there are no guests. Otherwise she takes the couch in her living room/hotel common area...

It is a nice budget dormitory. If one can adjust to a little bit of common discomforts in cramped hostels, it is an excellent choice for a 1-2 nights stay. It is right on the main road, 2 minutes walk from the beach, 30 minutes by cab from the airport, has hot water, decent breakfast and a lively international community in it and outside. Tips: 1. Try the lunch pack (a...

Very close to the airport which is why I booked this place. The owner came to the airport to pick us up, even though it was the middle of the night! Very kind owner, he also dropped us of in Negombo city center the next day to catch a bus to Colombo. The room itself is basic but clean and has a mosquito net. It’s really close to the airport which means you’ll hear som...

Great place, close to the Airport, Train- and Busstation. The Owners are really kind. We got a big typical, cheap breakfast and lots of information. WiFi was really good. Our Taxi driver had to call the Owner because no one was there when we arrived at 11pm.

Lovely welcoming family, comfy bed, close to airport. If you’re fussy you may dislike due to cold water only in bathroom and lack of AC (although you can pay more). Didn’t bother me. It was hot enough during the day to only want a cold shower and cooled down enough in the evenings

As a solo female traveller landing at midnight I wanted to find something relatively close to the airport so that I did not have to go into COLOMBo on my own late at night. This guesthouse was the perfect place for me to come and relax after 24 hrs on a plane. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable on what to do in Sri lanka and how to get around. Rooms very ...

This family went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Latith helped us in so many ways - particularly when our bags were lost at Colombo airport he drove us there himself at 2am the next morning to collect them! We had a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast both mornings we were there for $3 (traditional yummy egg hoppers were a favourite) and on of ...

We arrived from the airport close to midnight, but that was not a problem to our hosts. We awoke to the birdcalls in the garden in the morning and after a nourishing breakfast were given good advice with regard to our transport options. A great introduction to the friendliness of the people of Sri Lanka.

We were scammed by the taxi driver from the airport so Amare the host was immediately on the phone to the cops and a bunch of other people and it was all resolved within half an hour and our money had been recovered. He is also a fountain of info and an all round good, generous bloke.

The hotel was very clean, new, comfortable and spacious! The owner was very friendly and helpful, he even put us in contact with some other guests who were travelling the same way as us and we ended up sharing a taxi!! We were nervous about booking here as there were no reviews, but the hotel looked nice so we did anyway and are very glad! ! The hotel is about a 5/10 ...

This is an amazing find - I used to live in Sri Lanka and have been coming back for 28 years but have never stayed in or near negombo - it's not the nicest part of the island at all . But this resort is a little bit of heaven. Superb staff - Jay was wonderful , lovely owners and wonderfully stylish and tasteful. For 3-4 days you wouldn't want to leave - a perfect plac...

Sri Lanka is very expensive for accommodation relative to the cost of living so this place was a great find. This was the best value for money I found in Sri Lanka though I booked very late so got a good discount. Really good food and a very relaxing and private location. Ideal for a stop before or after flying out of Colombo.

Its amazing. This is the first hotel I stayed in Sri Lanka with clean wash-let. Separate shower, very good smell, If I tell shortly its look like a Japanese standard hotel. If some one need to stay in Japanese stranded hotel in Sri Lanka I recommend with full confidence. In the hotel had huge Ayurveda hospital, Yoga and meditation studio and more than 7 spa rooms. Doct...

We chose the Rainbow Lagoon Villa primarily because it was close to the airport but away from the hustle and bustle of the town of Negombo, and were not disappointed! The villa is great for those wanting to stay close to Colombo, and not far away from the airport – we stayed there for 3 days after a week in Kandy before catching the flight back to Chennai, on our way h...

This is a great hotel. Brand new, clean, unique decor, every room is different. The good size pool is a bonus and we used it every day. The food rates high and at a very reasonable price.. Staff friendly and welcoming. Best hotel we stayed in whilst in Sri Lanka.

Great place! Very clean, room had fan and air con, nicely decorated room, homely property, owners lovely to chat with, easy walk to beach, really tasty breakfast. Owner helped organise a tuk tuk for us to get to the airport. We stayed here at the end of our trip but I would have happily stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip.

I booked this hotel close to the airport as I had a very late flight from India, too late to commute back to Colombo ( 1 hour away) I was greeted warmly by staff for such a late hour, even given a welcome drink on arrival. My luggage was whisked up to the room and I was given a full run down of facilities. The room was huge and well appointed, the bathroom if anything n...

Very nice hotel. One of the plus point is location. It is out of Colombo but not too far. i usually have to travel away from Colombo and with a hotel in the city, i had to plan for 1.5 to 2 hrs of drive. This hotel saved a lot of trouble. nice ambiance, and all the facilities are up and working , since its new. Staff were very courteous. Awesome food too.

Everything was superb. Hygiene, Facilities working, Helpful Staff, No expectation of any extra money, flexible menu, etc. etc. If the rooms were not of a 5 Star category, neither did the rooms make you feel they r not. nice big rooms, spacious clean toilets, clean pool, well done restaurant with attentive restaurant manager, proactive reception staff, accommodating roo...

Only stay in Negombo if you need to be close to the airport. Much better beaches down south. This beach water has brown murky water. Not far away the fishermen and pollution leak waste into the sea. It's quite touristy nearby with the shops and restaurants - although plenty of choice. Nevertheless, for a stay in Negombo before departure or upon arriving and bef...

We had stayed for only 1 night, and we really wish we could stay longer! The villa is perfect! Very clean and beautiful architecture, with Christmas decorations to meet the Xmas atmosphere. the hotel is closely loated to the bandaranayake international airport, colombo. though the hotel is remotely located from colombo city centre (about 30kms), it is ideal for people who expects star class at budget rates. the best price i got for the hotel is by booking through agoda than through the hotel's own website. the price difference between the both is really c...

this place is awesome!! the bathrooms are gorgeous with spa baths. the staff are so lovely and kind although don't really speak english. the food is delicious with big servings. there is a private pool. mosquitoes are bad though. apart from this, the place is so peaceful. internet barely worked but other than this, the place is a treat. it's hard to find though.

Wonderful hotel. The staff was excellent, the best staff we encountered in Sri Lanka. They were very accommodating. The food was incredible, we ate here two nights and we very pleased....

We booked the master bedroom and it was massive. It was literally an entire floor to ourselves with our own private pool. The toilet is huge and has an amazing Jacuzzi. A lovely spot - however it is important to have mosquito management in order - putting the insecticide vapouriser next to the bed head is not an option - the rooms should come with a warning that the mosquitoes come from the bathroom and it would be best to sleep with insect repellent.

Although 1km off main road, Suriya resort won't disappoint you at all. large rooms with private balcony with Sea view. large swimming pool which closes at 7pm. food- one of the best spreads you can get in and around Negombo staff- friendly and attentive downside- their room service department is not UpTo standard. they couldn't find a single water bottle for me whe...

We booked this hotel to spend our last night and day in Sri Lanka after almost 3 weeks of visiting the country. After booking the room correctly on agoda, we were contacted by the host asking for more money as he said it was not the rate he had set up in the system. The host insisted that he had not listed rooms which aircon, when shown the listing on the phone ...

This house was absolutely incredible! We were the only guests so we had the house all for ourselves. The house was sooo beautiful and the room super cosy!
