Tried this placed solo to use up some PTO (holiday). Sunshine on the Rock is clearly more family and/or couple-oriented, but I felt welcome; the facility is clean, grounds are well kept, atmosphere is peaceful, and the beach access/powder sand/crystal clear water (I'm talking transparent enough to see sand granules if you look close enough) is difficult to replicate from what I've seen in my travels. Saw all kinds of fish off to the eastern portion of the beach where the ground is covered in large stones, including a pufferfish (hey, I thought it was cool). Restaurant meals are delicious and cheap (120-170 baht/meal is what I averaged). Definitely try the Pad Thai at least once and the spring rolls aren't bad at all. Also liked the stir-fried chicken with peppers and fried rice. They were out of desserts, save for fresh fruit, when I went, but the coconut cake looked good. The mocha latte is great, and they have plenty of chang and singha lager. They were unable to make gin/tonics during my stay as well (think they were out of gin or something). 5 nights cost me USD 204, which includes breakfast (0730-0930, can select an omelette, pancakes, or 2-3 other meals prepped fresh on the breakfast patio). Place is isolated, no doubt - great for just wanting peace/quiet/sun/sand/crystal-clear water and clean air. If you want to explore the island, you'll need to be experienced with a motorbike (requires physical deposit of your passport with mgmt - only thing that I didn't like, so didn't rent one). Sunshine rents their bikes for 350 baht/full 24-hour period (there's a 250 baht discount for rentals greater than 3 or 4 days, I think). AC installed in each room and will keep that room nice and cold, along with a rotating electric fan. Small fridge came in handy - restaurant closes at 2030 and the convenience stores close around 2200. You'll want to buy snacks, booze, and mixers during the first stay in bulk. There are (2) minimarts a short distance away;

Lovely and friendly Staff, very helpful and attentive. We rent a Scooter for a few days, to explore the beautiful Island. Breakfast and food is delecious. Beach is pefect! Just the bed could be a bit softer. Summarized this place is peaceful, quiet and good to just relax. We will come back!

I loved my stay here and would stay here again!! The rooms were great, big, clean, ac worked great and they had hot water for the shower beds were comfy, and cleaned daily if wanted. The beach is gorgeous, white sand loungers, hammocks and kayaks to use.nd a great place to watch the sunset!

Just for starters the island of Koh Kood is filled with incredible beaches and sunshine resort sits on one of the best. The staff has done a wonderful job of accommodating us we were here before the high season started so it was only a few bungalows rented at a time but when we needed to book fairy travel set up taxis they were there to help a Beach is just wow there are four other resorts on this beach spread out over a kilometer great place for kids great place for adults very very very nice place

Great place, clean, staff is friendly. No problem whatsoever. Also the location of our house was great. Breakfasts is ok. There are 4 types of meal + toast. If you stay for longer period it may get repetitive fast. Food in a restaurant was the most tasty from all of them on a beach. We tried them all. The beach itself is beautiful. However some days the tides can bring a quite a lot of garbage on the shores. They try to clean the beach however it is not as clean as it used to be in a past. We where to Koh Kood 3 years ago and there was a lot less people back then. Also a lot of construction activity is visible on the island and it seems like in few years this remote paradise will disappear and become as crowded as other places in Thailand. Its a shame as we loved this place. However this was probably our last visit. Not because of this resort. Which is great but because it is no longer a super quite place it used to be.

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island, just amazing and well-cared garden, everything is absolutely cozy and pacific. Really good food is served in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!

hidden getaway”
This is a perfect spot to have a relaxing holiday, at the very end of the very last beach of the island. Probably one of the calmest place on the island (and probably in Thailand). There are some caveats with this as usual, as there are not many things to do apart from sitting in the beach (which is great). You'll need a scooter to do shopping or have lunch/dinner outside of the hotel's restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the environment is clean and nice. The only thing I missed from the room is a cattle. Other than this, I had a great time and I would go back.

Sunshine On the Rock is separate from Sunshine Resort but just adjacent. There are nice modern bungalows with hot water, but unfortunately the bed was rock hard. They have motorbikes for rent. The breakfast consisted of 4 options such as omelette and fruit. The beach was just by the resort and was absolutely stunning. It is the best beach on the island - I drove to most of them! Worth staying here for that alone. So quiet as well, even in high season, so it never felt crowded.

The most beautiful beach of the whole island can be found here! The location is quite for away from everything, as it is located on the most south part of the island. But with a motorbike / scooter (that is available for rental) We would recommend it to anyone!

Great location on a stunning beach”
The rooms are poured concrete but functional and with a garden view. They have mosquito nets but we're not needed by us. Short walk to the beautiful beach. Free kayaks provided. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was good.

The beach is amazing. So little people, even in high season. It was a pro for us but if you are looking for night life or meeting people this is not the place for you. Everything closes at 21.00 and it's mostly couples and families staying here. The bungalow was new and clean. The bed was very hard but we still had a good sleep. The shower is supposed to have hot water but this hardly ever worked. Breakfast is good. There are about 5 options to choose from.

I enjoyed the beautiful, clean white sand beach right at the front; great for swimming and roaming; kayak for use free of charge; plenty of beach chairs; restaurant with good menu and real free coffee; super nice and helpful staff! you can rent bike to get around (which would be required to see the island) I stayed in cement built room; which is quite hot. Room was adequate. I got bites quite a bit, so bring your repellants. Overall a good stay ...
