We arrived at 6am from Dalat, the lobby welcome us with smile. No early checkin, but they let us to sit in their restaurant or use their toilet. The room was wide, clean and complete. Had room with nice city view, they provided as our request. Hairdryer, refrig, water heater, hot water shower were working perfectly. The only downside was the location, not that far from the beach, need 15-20min slow walk. And the nearest food center was 10min walk. Best recommended for anyone solo or family traveler! 👍🏻
My stay at Harriot Hotel & Suites Da Nang was terrible—zero stars. Here’s what you need to know: • Towel/Linen Charges: Charged 100,000 VND for laundry if towels, pillowcases, or bedsheets have any stains, even from normal bathing or dropping them on their dirty floors. Barefoot walking picks up dirt, and they still charge you. Ridiculous! • Leaking AC & Barroom: Room AC flooded the floor; barroom ceiling constantly leaked. Room change requests ignored. • Filthy Pool: Pool is neglected and visibly dirty. • Cockroaches in Lobby: Saw cockroaches everywhere; one crawled up my leg under jeans, forcing me to take off the jeans right there to take out the cockroach. . • Smelly Lobby: Strong stench on entry, hot, poorly ventilated, with useless fans. • Worn-Out Furniture: Room clean but chair/sofa dirty; room fan stuck on one speed, no replacement provided. • No Room Service: Breakfast just three repetitive options. • Poolside Charges: They wanted to charge me for the lost tea cups that I left at the pool side, don’t take glassware there. • Staff: Polite, spoke limited English but got points across.
What can I say, this place was blah. We stayed here for 2 nights which was 2 nights too long. First off our room: it’s hot in Danang and we had a room that didn’t have a properly functioning air conditioner. It was uncomfortably and miserably HOT in our hotel room. We asked for an additional fan to help with the heat which did not help much. We informed the staff and they sent someone to check out the air conditioning, doing nothing further to fix the situation. I wish they would have offered us another room with a properly functioning air conditioner, but that did not happen. Additionally, the room was not very clean. The bathroom wall was made of glass that was inadequately frosted and there was a see through curtain for privacy. Needless to say, there was not much privacy when using the bathroom. The food was just food. It gave sustenance and that was it. We tried every item on their menu and felt that we wasted a meal on eating their food. Wish we had saved the meal as an opportunity to try the delicious food available in the local area. The staff were okay. We had just experienced the staff from our stay in Phu Quy Island, Hanoi, Hue and Sapa who were as friendly, helpful and kind as could be, so in comparison, the staff at the Herriot leave much to be desired. Maybe it’s just the culture in Danang? I’m not sure, but they were the least friendly staff we encountered throughout our 1 month stay in Vietnam across many different areas. We stayed in Hoi An and Pleiku afterwards and the staff there were much better than here. I doubt it’s just the culture here. The rooftop pool: we took a swim on our first night here and it wasn’t great. The finish all around the pool was rough/sandy and we all ended up with chaffs on our backs and shoulders from making contact. I can’t recommend staying at this hotel. There are many others in the area that must be better, unfortunately, we did not have a chance to try them.
Unfortunately, my stay at Herriot Hotel in Da Nang was quite disappointing. Despite requesting early check-in just one hour before the official time (due to our scheduled tour at 1:30 PM), the receptionist was unhelpful and rude. There was no flexibility or courtesy shown, even after multiple polite requests. To make matters worse, the shampoo bottle in the bathroom was placed in a way that made it easy to slip and fall. When it accidentally broke, I was immediately charged 120,000 VND for it , they even had a printed cost sheet ready at the reception, which made it feel like a trap rather than an accident. The air conditioning in the room barely worked, making the stay uncomfortable, especially during hot weather. The location of the hotel is also inconvenient with very few dining options nearby, adding to the overall hassle. The only positive aspect was that the room itself was spacious, but that alone doesn’t justify the poor service and hidden charges. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless improvements are made in both hospitality and honesty.

We are a couple who stayed in a deluxe double room at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights.The room is spacious with comfortable bed. They will clean the room and change your towels daily. Staffs are very helpful with any inquiry or questions you might have. You can rent a motorbike with them so you can go around Danang easily. They even went to rescue us and changed the motorbike we rented when we had a problem with it. It is also near the stores and restaurants so very convenient. Definitely, will recommend this place. Thanks for making our stay and experiece memorable.
