"We are a family of 2 adults, 2 young kids and 1 senior. We’ve been to Desaru for a few times and stayed in different resorts. We were never satisfied. We went to Lotus with a little skeptical, albeit reading good comments in forums. Receptionist was friendly, we were given a room with fallen exhaust fan in the bathroom and asked for a change. No question asked. In the evening we went for dinner at the coffee house late at 9+ pm and the Captain offered our 2 kids free for the buffet dinner. As our kids would usually take only some dessert and hardly any main course. We were very happy with the nice gesture offered by the Captain, thank you. B/f was pleasant too, with appetizing spread and clean. The crowd was extremely heavy on the day we checked out, as it was a Good Friday Holiday but it was in good order. Our kids enjoyed the water playground a lot. There were guards constantly watching at the crowd – very impressive. There were also a few different pools, one of which is very deep (just be cautioned, I think it’s 1.4m or something, well written at the side of the pool). We would highly recommend this resort as it’s the best we have ever stayed in Desaru. Would love to come back. "

"My friend and I were cycling in Johor and needed a place to sleep around Desaru, we found a promotion at Desaru Tunamaya which seemed decently priced (Rm.67++) and the reviews were good so we decided to stay there. Upon our arrival, first pleasant surprise: the place is extremely easy to find. Then during check-in and without asking for anything: we got upgraded! Room was on ground floor with direct access to the pool area, and had two beds (1 king size and 1 single). The room was very clean and well furnished, quiet and comfortable so we had a great night sleep. The pool is okay (a bit small and super crowded with children) but the beach is just right there and they have someone to clean it every morning. The breakfast buffet was good and overall the staff were very nice and professional. I think the thing we enjoyed the most was the barbecue area near the beach where you get a huge plate of BBQed meats for Rm.40 and you can order drinks, beers etc. I would definitely recommend staying there, the other resorts look just as good but I can only talk about what I know: Desaru Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort is a nice resort, I definitely will come back!"

"Staffs - Very friendly and helpful Price - Worth it. Room - Great view of the waterpark, spacious, clean, big toilet too. We booked a family room that comes with 2 queen size bed. their queen bed is slightly smaller than our normal queen bed. Food - a few food outlet. There's Mexican restaurant, lobby lounge and local restaurant. breakfast, great spread. shuttle bus - free. but they will only shuttle in desaru coast area only. which most of the place is not yet ready. Transport - you need to get the staff to call cab for you. No uber/grab. The best is to have your own transport. Cos there will more food area and shop at desaru utama or small mall. Nothing much around hard rock hotel. Most shops are not ready. Overall - Nice hotel and great. Will be back once all rooms category are open. "

"The hotel is situated along a stretch of resorts in Desaru. It is about 2-3km away from the Desaru Coast Adventure Park. There is a free shuttle bus service to loop between the hotels and the park if you are not driving. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful with a smile. We felt very welcomed. The room is spacious and all the amenities very well-thought of. The infinity pool though it a tad small but it has a great view to the beach about 500m away. The spread complimentary breakfast buffet is excellent and everything tasted good. This hotel/resort is a great place to unwind and enjoy the down time. It was a pretty that we only stayed for 1 night. We will be back definitely in the future!"

"We went to Desaru for a surfing trip, and we stayed in this hotel. To go to the surfing beach, you have to arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the hotel. The hotel is just beside a mall and some restaurants. On one of the levels, there's a bar (where they have a duo singing) and a play room where you can play billiards. The breakfast is nice as well and the place is peaceful."
