Comfortable and Cheap.”
Our stay was nice, better tha other hotels I've stayed at in San Francisco.

can't beat the price”
Low room rates and reasonable on site parking will draw me back to the Travel Lodge on Market at Valencia. It was well located for accessing public transportation and walking distance to the Civic Center, Castro, Valencia and Mission Districts. The rooms were clean and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Continental Breakfast was available and restaurants in the immediate area served exceptional food. I slept well. There was remodeling taking place during my stay, but I have no complaints about noise or inconvenience.

Basic Hotel, ”
we found travelodge central san francisco to be very basic as far as hotel rooms go. the area was not really condusive to going out at night unless by taxi or vehicle, and it was very limited in nearby restaurants and food outlets. the staff were nice and helpful whenever we asked for advice or help. more of a "one night passing through" accommodation than any other.

Alls well that ends well”
after a poor start when having ordered a king room one was not available and there were several problems i spoke to the manager matthew and suddenly everything was as it should be if not better. he is a sensational find for travelodge as i believe he has joined only recently and sadly i doubt whether he will be there long as he is 5 star quality. if he stays the hotel standards will rocket. quite a lot of homeless around the area but there were no problems and my wife and i walked back to the hotel from downtown area and pier 39.

Acceptable”
This was one of the cheapest hotels I found in San Francisco. I was not expecting too much, however, there are some things that are expected when paying for a place to stay--cleanliness and common courtesy. My boyfriend had to kill about 4-5 roaches. When we called the office, the staff was rude and eventually hung up the phone. Our issue was unresolved. We decided to stay since we were only staying one more night and decided it wasn't worth the fight. One of our towels was stained. The refrigerator leaked. The aircon unit couldn't be adjusted fully. The hallway near the ice machine smells like urine. The area is loud, which is out of their control. The female staff member during breakfast was really nice. Although, I can't say anything positive about the others really. If you want to just crash after a long day and can sleep through noise and bugs, this place will do the trick. I didn't have bed bugs so that is a plus. This is definitely the worst place I've ever stayed.

Decent stay”
They were overbooked so we were given a smaller room for the same price. Still, a good location and clean. Service was slow but the breakfast was satisfying.

I would not stay at this hotel again, I was happy to leave that place.. ”
Cons:: As we checked in there was very creepy people eyeballing us, walking around the parking lot and looking at the vehicles. Someone called our room saying we should come over. It was not the front desk that called. ( Almost sketched us out) Guests smoked weed and cigarettes in their rooms, (no smoking rooms) and the smell drifted to our room. The neighbourhood is very ghetto, I would not suggest going out by yourself after dark. The noise level was up from people drinking and partying all night, and it only got louder at 3am. I had to call the front desk about it. They did quiet down for a bit after that. The hotel does not mention about the 15$usd parking fee online. Pros:: The location is good.

I would not stay here again !!”
The staff were helpful and the room was clean, breakfast was basic but sufficent. Although the breakfast room was too small and needed more tables as we had to wait each morning for a table to become free. This area in Market Street is very dodgy as there are a lot of vagrants sleeping rough in tents, drug addicts and drug dealers. The Travelodge is used by prositutes and pimps and drug dealers which the hotel management obviously are aware of. We felt quite intimidated during our stay and made sure we were back before dark, as these people would often approach us for money etc. People who also knock our door and try to get in during the night, they would shout and fight all night outside on the carpark. Which was quite unsettling. We would not stay in this hotel or this area again.

Budget Queen, no headboard.”
Front desk staff appeared unaware of check-in procedures. my room was clean, maids were friendly. Motel parking is used as a public parking lot, lot of loitering by local vagrants.

Helpful reception staff”
The hotel looks more of an old motel. But the saving grace would be the very helpful staff at the reception who happily assisted us and answered all our questions and concerns. Sanjeev, Juliana and the Filipino male receptionist (Mr. Manalo I think) are all worth commending!

Unfriendly receptionist”
Receptionist showed frustration when my booking was unable to find in their computer system. Bad attitude and customer service. I understand he has to face many customers every day but he has forgotten that he is in the service line. thumbs down

Cleaning staff and desk persons sketchy”
Luckiky i took pics of my room. Of course the maid claimed i trashed the room and have to pay 50 bucks damages to towels. Cheap ratty mismatched towels that were stained with lipstick. Long story.... I was prodded to pay my deposit cash.... The clerk literally directed me to three different cash machines rather than swipe my card. At check out I now know why. Seems like I outsmarted a scam contrived to skim a few bucks. Dodgy and a procedure that was off kilter and flat out untrue. Glad I trusted my instinct and covered my tsil. Other than that.... It was worth the price.... Because the price was low. .It is a ghetto run chain hotel.... None of the benefits of a chain and intrusive loud staff. I don't reccomend unless

Good basic hotel, nice staff, bad internet”
i have stayed here a couple dozen times. the wireless net was barely functional and they had no ethernet to use in reserve. that has always been very frustrating as i am usually here needing to do business. but everything else was quite nice - the whole experience is dramatically improved from how it was even a few months ago...perhaps thanks to the relatively new faces i see behind the front desk.
