We loved our stay at Villa Florence”
It was a great place to stay for our 2 night, 3 day visit to San Francisco. We found the union square location very convenient for public transport. The staff stored our baggage after we checked out. The rooms were spacious and comfy. My only issue was drainage of the shower was very slow.

This hotel is nearby Union square and the downtown are of SFCO. This location is superb to access all public transportation options. This hotel provides excellent room space, cleanliness, and lobby facilities.

Just need to know the extra daily charge”
The room rate you see before reserving this hotel is not the only charge per room per night. You just need to add the daily surcharges. For us it was about $29 per night. It's in the fine-print so don't get upset when you have been warned here. I have seen unaware guests getting upset at checkout time. Also, when the daily charge is being explained at check-in. I know this charge could add up if staying for multiple days. Other than that, this hotel is ideally located if you want to spend most of your time near the Union Square area and downtown Market Street area. It is a quite a hike to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Square but doable. If walking to Lombard Street windy hill, be prepared to walk up some hills. (It's also doable but wear comfortable walking shoes).

Good if you like coziness”
This is an old small property. They did therier best to.modernize it. The bathrooms are tiny. They put large mirrors in the room to give the illusion of size. The location is great, right on the Powell Street cable car line. The continental breakfast also was suprising of good quality especially the fresh granola. Good value.

Great location altough there is a lot of homeless in that area, they don’t bother you. Friendly staff. Nice lobby. Our room and bathroom were very small but we don’t spend much time in so it didn’t bother us that much. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. The cable car is right on the street,so very practicle (take the pass at Walgreen’s,much cheaper than paying each time). Lizzie ´s bar is a couple of blocks and you get a nice view of the city. Cheesecake Factory in Macy ´s on 8th floor as a terrace.

Sweet funky spot full of history and nightlife”
I stayed here for NYE and really loved the visit. For a holiday booking and right at Union Square - I thought it was pretty decent price ... What I would expect to pay looking for something last minute on a holiday. The decoration was nice ... staff very friendly. I thought though maybe it could have used a closer dusting and vacuuming but over all pretty clean. I appreciate the vibe they are going for and would stay here again.

Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of down town area. Mostly all the attractions are near by only. Very convenient for veg food options. Rooms are big enough for two people. Nice to stay in the hotel.

This hotel is strategically located. Just a stone-throw away from Saks at Fifth, Macy’s, Tram and Tour bus stops and the metro. The hotel is a bit old but i believe this was recently remodeled. The free coffee and muffin in the morning and free Italian beer and wine are a plus! Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely book again when we visit SFO.

I’d stay again”
Location was convenient. Staff was the great. Surprised with the breakfast. Fresh, nicely displayed, quality foods. All of the things in the hotel were above average. Only downfalls were there was NO hot water! Cold shower was not the best part of waking up. All and all I’d give it another try! The great staff for the win!

Hidden additional amenities fees”
There is additional hidden amenity fee of 40 usd for each person ro use WiFi, Free one drink, Gym access and Breakfast. Breakfast was already included in the price I paid thru online, but they said that the amenity fee also covers the breakfast. I simply do not recommend this hotel to anyone because of this hidden fee. Location and room clearness was great!

UNBEATABLE LOCATION BUT LOOK ELSEWHERE!”
Location - unbeatable. Staff - friendly especially this lady called Unique and the doorman. Room - given 419 which smell so bad (urine kind) then changed to 421 which was better. realized later was the whole of level 4 which has this musky smell right after you stepped out from lift. Room service - awful. Room was not cleaned when we did not leave the service please tag hanging on the door.

Room smelled like smoke, wrong room booked”
It’s great to be in union square, great that when we were mistakenly booked into a single queen room they changed it to two doubles for no extra charge, but the place smelled like smoke, the parking was a whopping 60 bucks a night. It seemed over priced for what we got.

Centrally-located comfortable hotel”
Villa Florence is located on Powell St in Downtown San Francisco. It's central location means it's a great place to start sightseeing and tourist activities, although note that Powell St can be quite noisy. Check-in and Check-out were both rather quick and effortless (great after a long flight), the first room I was allocated overlooked Powell St and was noisy with tourist and street noise until late in the evening, then cable car maintenance and trash collection woke me up very early in the morning. Complained to the front desk who were very apologetic and moved me to a quieter room at the back of the hotel. Rooms were small but cosy. Must admit the customer service was quite good at this hotel, they are very accommodating so would recommend.
